This number contained possibly my favourite staging in the entire show. It was simultaneously terrifying and magical. The way Eurydice slips in and out of darkness and the fates disappear and reappear was so brilliant. This combined with the darkness of the stage represented Orpheus having to blindly trust Hades, a man who until recently was nothing but cruel to him, resulted in what was probably the most immersive theatrical experience I have ever had. And then Orpheus turns around, so close to the end, and all the lights turned on, and Eurydice descended below the stage. I heard multiple audible gasps in the theatre. Despite knowing how it ends, the show had made me so hopeful, that "it might turn out this time" .

Going to see this production in October, this number is definitely the one I'm looking forward to the most!

It was absolutely fantastic. I heard people gasping and immediately starting to sob. That's how you know they've nailed the production. I'll need to see the show as soon as possible ❤️

@baileythefilmaker.-I just saw the show back in October during a trip to London, & this scene was incredible, & one of my favourite parts of the show. As you said, the way they would have the fates appear with their lanterns taunting Orpheus & then disappearing back into the dark was such a simple, but clever bit of staging, & looked pretty eerie.

The emotion in Dónal's voice is breathtaking here. I mean, that's true of all his numbers (especially If It's True, my gOsh), but here it really is so visceral. You understand and experience his despair so tangibly...

Grace’s accent isn’t working for me in this show. It doesn’t even sound natural in her singing voice and she flips between midlands and RP accents constantly throughout these recordings so it’s not even consistent throughout. Saw her in sunset and she’s talented so it’s a shame to see the directors let this happen

i think people always think singing in your natural accent is easier, but these performers have trained for YEARS in RP and American accents
