This channel is really useful .. Thanks for the videos .. One quick question, is it mandatory to keep hive metastore server , webhcat server and hive instance on same node ? or they can be placed on different instances. If we can launch on different instances will there be any delay in response while hive communicating with metastore.

Thanks Kishore .We can keep the services on different nodes . In my case I have only limited number of nodes , so used the same node . But normally in production environment people keep all the hive server components in one server

Thrift server / service - 1.mainly used used in remote configuration of hive means hiveserver + metastore are on different jvms and database has connected extrenally which give HA..

2. To establish connection between hiveserver and metastore we us jdbc or obc connector. The server which provide these previliges is called as* thrift service .*
