the reason why artificial banana flavor is bad is that it was formulated to taste like the original bananas, which went extinct because of some sort of plant plague, so to us today, all the banana flavoured candy and other items taste nothing like bananas, cause we only have a different breed of banana available to us.

They actually aren’t extinct, they just got very close, and were put out of commission for a while, leading to other varieties of bananas being found to be much more efficient and cheaper to grow and ship, which caused the old bananas to stop being the mainstream banana variety.

They weren't the "original", they just happened to be the most popular commercial variety when the flavoring was being developed

I've always found this answer when I say I don't like banana candy to be annoying. Like, I don't think any candy flavor tastes like the thing it's trying to be. That's not why I like or don't like something. Banana flavored candy tastes bad because the flavor is bad, not because it doesn't taste like banana. Blue razzberry candy tastes delicious but it's a flavor that isn't even BASED on a real thing.

I feel like all the Solo god runs are pretty strong. Part of the balance of Hades is that, with your boons split between 4 gods per run & are never able to completely guarantee which 4, your final build won't be totally synergistic unless you're crazy lucky. But when it's all the same god, even the boons that are bad when offered on their own become good because of the high level of synergy.

I can attest that most builds, if not all, can have crazy good synergy with the right choices. Some builds of mine have been disgustingly synergistic, and some of my best have been when I started with the purse.

Demeter does well at it, I think some gods like Aphro and Dio don't have great tier 2 boons to compliment though but still not a big deal overall.

I swear that demeter scythe that shows up at 10% health is the sickest visual anything in this game. Imagine zeus or ares had their own legendary like that. Just a big giant lightning or a massive doom symbol

After using the talos fists for months, I recently started using the Demeter fists. Definitely enjoying using the fists overall, probably my second favorite weapon.

Wait no, heating up the liquid before mixing in the ingredients helps the whole thing mix together better, it's like putting sugar in hot coffee helps it dissolve but in cold coffee the sugar will settle at the bottom, same with ice sweet tea vs ice tea with sugar in it (in the southern states you'll see the difference there) You can heat it up afterwards as well, but you wanna make sure it's warm in the first place too

Last I heard anything about heating milk was for making gravy, you need some kind of grease, all purpose flour or cornstarch paste and milk. It can be cold but it's easier when warmed up beforehand, makes the roux dissolve easier/quicker. Roux for reference is the grease and flour that's been cooked to reduce the flour taste or the mixture of cornstarch paste and grease of choice.

Do you guys eat cereal with cold milk? How about heating milk for a coffee, making hot chocolate, porridge of some kind or bechamel sauce? I’m so confused 😅

@@TingFreak Cereal as in things like Chex or corn flakes? If so, yes and a majority of the people don't make hot chocolate from scratch anymore unfortunately. The packets of the stuff from what I've seen are usually mixed with hot water

hael if you wanna get a new controller you should look into one with hall effect joysticks they're magnetic so they're never supposed to drift or anything like that since its not a traditional mechanical one the 8bitdo ultimate and the gulikit kingkong 2 have them and they're both around 70 usd

5:05 this vod watcher recommends one of the controllers from gulikit simply on the ground that the sticks are Hall effects., all other features be damned stick drift is the enemy 1 of of controllers and there stuff is the only Hall effect solution I’ve used and can attest its efficacy. And for damn sure that it isn’t 200$

For the movie theater candy discussion: adding M&Ms to your popcorn is delicious. Movie theaters are so cold that they cause M&Ms to be unpleasantly hard, but the warm popcorn can soften the candy shell and make the chocolate melty. Although if the popcorn is TOO warm, it can melt food coloring right off the candy, resulting in undesirable stickiness.

i think i had a glitch with the demeter lego one time, i think the most important thing was the run was with em4 and i was using beowulf for the big burst damage (im talking around 1-3k damage burst because i love artemis crits and a bunch of cast), and when i got dad to stage 3 and only took down 1/3 of the hp bar it procc'd the demeter lego for the easiest fight ive done. i wonder if it could be recreated?

Something I've done before that freaks EVERYONE out that I've talked to about it is dipping Oreos in Water. I don't do it often or anything, but its like honestly fine as long as its water you'd normally drink (not like mineral water or anything). But the concept squicks people out and I find it hilarious. It's really not that different

you heat your milk when: Cooking with dairy making hot chocolate the epic way when you want to froth it for a fancy shmancy coffee when you want cereal on a frozen winters morning, dont knock it til ya try it, its a different taste for sure, and i think its a very nice difference, and dont over boil it, milk + too much heat = big ass mess and/or injury if youre dumb enough to touch the milk when you over cook it

For what it's worth, I bought an Xbox Elite controller and the thing has been great. The build quality "feels" better than the Normal Xbox 360 controller, but I'm not using any of the fancy "doodads" that make it elite. I've had it about a year and it still works perfectly. My favorite thing about it is the nice grip material. I previously bought an equally expensive SCUF aftermarket controller and it was absolute junk. I had to send it back in to be repaired (when it was still brand new), and even when it came back I was still having issues with the sticks getting stuck in a direction, not to mention the grip material just absolutely disintegrating into a gooey mess over time.

Mod idea: if you have the prerequisites for a Duo then you're *guaranteed* to be offered the Duo when you get either of the gods next. How fast can you go, how easy will the game get?

you should get the playstation edge controller it has removable stick modules so if they ever get stick drift (which is why zag is randomly walking downward like you say) you can replace them for like 20 bucks. it also has back paddles which is cool for alternate button inputs. the controller is a bit expensive at $200 but well worth it. make sure you get the warranty with it as well as i would say you are a hardcore gamer that could wear out other parts of the controller that are not built to be interchangeable.

I remember hating milk when I was very little until I tried it cold... have been an excessive milk drinker since. For context we got the milk from the neighbourhood cow so we had to boil it every time before drinking but some of it would be leftover in the fridge.

The reasons people always talk about boots is because it was a famous theory from the 19th century. It’s called Sam Vimes Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness. His point is basically that it is expensive to be poor. But it applies to luxury goods too hehe

XBox Elite Series 2 has been nice. Better than the first in just about every way. Hall effect joy sticks shouldn’t ever give you stick drift issues. A bunch of aftermarket options for thumb sticks, paddles and dpad on Amazon. My only issue is my toddler threw it and a piece broke inside, so sometimes my right trigger doesn’t work when it’s set in long travel mode. Nothing is truly child proof though, so not the controller’s fault.

Movie theater candy costs so much cuz that's how they make their money. All of the profit from a theater comes from food and drink. They are selling you the tickets at cost, most of the time.

the “deep dive into the controller problem” you want exists!!! look into hall effect controllers, they eliminate all the common joystick issues, such as drift and wear. the rest, unfortunately, just comes down to build quality, there’s no magic bullet.

Hey, so for the xbox elite controller, Ive had one for months and while I generally like it, the bumpers have a very big design flaw and the internal part gets worn really bad and really quick. I'm not a super heavy user, maybe an hour or two of gaming, 3-4 times a week. My brother, his best friend and I all got the elite controller and within 6 months - a year we all had the same bumper issues. We were able to mitigate it by adding a layer of tape to the internal plastic thingamajig, but it's doesn't resolve it completely. I'd definitely look for another controller for heavy use like you do for streaming.n
