I saw and heard Christophe sing this whilst riding a bike on stage - we went to Plymouth UK to see Glyndebourne on tour Rinaldo. I couldn't believe how good he was - those of you who are singers know how extremely difficult this aria is standing still let alone riding a bike at the same time. Every single note was present - the best ever rendition I'd ever heard of this piece - he was even better than this recording live!!

bravo! for a counter-tenor it isn't bad. but what is this thing about counter-tenors? they can not do this arias as it should be. so - why don't let women sing? even they can't do it the way a castrato has done...

The Countertenors and Male Soprano who are before the public today are of exceptional quality and offer a technical and musical excellence that 20 years ago was not available. There is remarkable singing being done by these men and I am grateful that they are being presented. Women were never convincing in these roles .No matter how well they sang them. As for the Castratos they are gone never to reappear and no one knows what they sounded like anyway except from written description there are no recordings of any real value of an exceptional Castrato.We can only suppose!
