The second question is technically wrong. Saturn will be the 6th closest not the furthest. For 6th furthest, you have to calculate from the far most planet which is Neptune. So from Neptune, the 6th furthest plant is Earth or 3rd closest.

Actually, the second answer isn't Saturn - no one is reading the question correctly. Let's count together - Neptune is the farthest away from the sun, right? So what's the second farthest? Not the second from the Sun, but the second FARTHEST away from the Sun? That's right, it's Uranus. Third farthest? Yup it's Saturn. Let's keep going; fourth farthest is the Jupiter; fifth farthest is Mars, then Earth sitting as the "6th farthest away from the Sun." Also, the question features pleonasm, but that's an issue for a separate comment. Grammar matters.

Well the 6ᵗʰ _furthest_ planet from the Sun is obviously the Earth. Because the 1ˢᵗ furthest is naturally Neptune (like, it’s *THE furthest)* and then you count down: 2ⁿᵈ is Uranus, 3ʳᵈ is Saturn, 4ᵗʰ is Jupiter, 5ᵗʰ is Mars and finally 6ᵗʰ is the Earth. Saturn would be the 6ᵗʰ *_closest_* to the Sun. And even then, it would be more correct to say we’re only discussing the planets’ _orbits_ here.

Hi, for the 2nd question: Do u mean 6th CLOSEST TO the sun? Because (The) closest to the Sun is Mercury 2nd closest is Venus 3rd closest is Earth and so on. So Saturn is the 6th CLOSEST TO the Sun. On the other hand, (The) furthest from the Sun is Neptune, 2nd furthest is Uranus, 3rd furthest is Saturn and so on. That’ll make Earth the 6th FURTHEST FROM the Sun.

It is easy but it is a fact that you have to remember. and to keep remembering something you need to repeat. so you repeated the list loads of time and then you remembered it. now dont use this list ever in your life again (since you wont use this info ever after school) and come back in 20 years and try to remember it chances are you wont remember it. Like do you remember what you ate on the second monday of january 2017? Ofcourse not since its a fact you dont ever use anymore after the fact. Yet it is "Very simple" just a meal youve probably eaten dozens of times. this is the same. 99.99999% of people Will never ever use the order of planets in their life again after school. so if 20+ plus years have gone by without any thinking about it you will forget since your brain deems the information irrelevant so it pushes it away. If you want to relearn it again you will probably be able to do it faster since its your second time around and some remnants of what you learned is still there compared to the first time where you had to start from scratch but still

Thumbnail answer is 1. Remember PEMDAS. P - Parentheses E - Exponents M - Multiplication D - Division A - Addition S - Subtraction You do these operations in that order. However keep note that multiplication/ division are on the same step, and addition/ subtraction are on the same step. So the problem is 9 - 3 ÷ 1/3 + 1 Do 3 ÷ 1/3 first. That gives you 9. No, it is not 1. You are DIVIDING a fraction, not multiplying. The problem now reads 9 - 9 + 1 Addition and subtraction are on the same step, even if it looks like addition is higher on PEMDAS. In this case you read the problem from left to right now. Because of that, do 9 - 9. That gives you 0. 0 + 1 = 1. The answer is 1.
@cos4497
@cos4497 Жыл бұрын
The reason why I got this write because of this rule. I didn't learn this until I got into pre cal but you write the problem to 3\1\3. You would change the division sign to a multiplication sign, flip the 1\3 to 3/1 which is just 3. Then you'll get 9. Maybe there is a better way to get nine but this is how I did it. Edit: I got a like on this comment and realized I used "write" instead of "right". I'm in tenth grade and used the wrong form of right. I'm just gonna leave it

I believe the written formula should have been pretty straight forward in terms of getting the right answer, yet somehow we're getting ludicrously different answers for even simple string of numbers. Not sure if this has already been defined enough at this point, but I guess we could clarify that method of calculation objectively. Just a little interpretation on my part; 1. Left to right, ie. all formulas must be chronological in the order of calculations as you would read a sentence. 2. For (1) to happen, each portion of the formula should be separately calculated up to their simplest additional or subtractional form (same as how you would understand a sentence's grammar). A bracket would indicate that in the chronological order. 3. If a multiplication or division is included in the chronological order of the final calculation, (1) of left to right applies as written, so the base of the multiplication or division is done with the prior in the order instead of what is closest to it (which would be represented by (2)) 4. In the case where the simplest answer of a bracketed calculation remains in brackets in the chronological order (ie. not in whole digits), then the final calculation should still be done as in (1), with that format factored in.
