I think that the key is that they find a good vocalist for the continuity of the band, a good example is Bridear, they knew how to keep the band despite the change of members, of course the detail is that they never changed their vocalist

I think they will be alright, i mean aldious has had more than three vocalists each with health issues but returned to do other stuff.maybe Hagane can have guests players or vocals

Very sad news indeed. And what's even more sad is that the news came out like a day earlier and I didn't know about it until now. I pray for Uyu, Mayto & Kanako to be successful and wish them all the best on their future careers. I hope that the remaining members don't disband this band even if they cannot find suitable replacements. I will miss Uyu's vocals in HAGANE. Her voice is unique.

This reminds me of Destrose. They lost 4 members on 2009 New Year's eve and they formed Mary's Blood. Later, their guitarrist formed a side proyect Nemophila, and soon MB was going on an "undefinited hiatus".

Those Situations are slightly different from each other but yeah. MB's label was the reason for the hiatus, not them.Some not all, Destrose members left was mainly because of Mina and if you don't believe me check out fate gears lineup over the years

Sad times for them but I am sure that Sayaka and Sakura will manage to make the project even better. I can also see Uyu, Mayto and Kanako doing music because they are really good.

Honestly was disappointed with the album,the last EP was good,blackcult was great and got me hyped for the album but it felt like it was missing something,Sakura is Hagane so it will be alright just look at Bridear(still missing misaki :( ). Also excited to see who joins,maybe Mari and EYE(Mary's blood) can join but probably not since they have started putting out solo albums

I'm surprised vocalist Uyu leaves, a little less about the rest. That whole album is basically Sakura's guitar, Uyu's vocals and a synth with the other members way in the background in the mix. The whole band is basically Sakura (next to guitar she has Lyrics, Composition and Arrangement credits) with other musicians. I can image that this can lead to problems (see also Destrose/Fate Gear where Mina basically did/does the same thing). That said, while I am not a huge fan of the album, I do feel bad hearing this. Plenty of people seem to love Hagane and I thought they could do well in their market and possibly in the West since their music is a little more radio-friendly.

The comparison with Destrose seems relevant. When a band is actually designed as a solo project with 'unofficially permanent support members', it will lead to a lot of frustrations and tensions. It is better if the situation of each member is clear and public, which is the case in Fate Gear for a while now. In any case relying on the creativity of only 1 member to build a band repertoire is risky, both in terms of music quantity and quality. It is an obvious limitation to hire some talents and deprive the band of their creativity, and bands with team music composing or many competing individual music composers usually get the best repertoire and the fun is probably much higher in those (Mary's Blood, Bridear,...). To prove this coming back to Hagane, 'Black Cult' is an amazingly good song, but the latest single/MV just sounds like an 'under Black Cult' and would not drive me to get the album...

From what I can tell, Sakura is credited for all of the music writing and lyrics. So if she wants to keep going and replace members then yea its still Hagane. The biggest thing would be finding a singer, other guitarists and drummers could easily fit in but vocals is hard to replace. Also Band-Maid is in their 10th year and had same members throughout.

@@minchomania Maybe you're right. I think like a Westerner. In Japan, the replacement of band members (or the departure of a band member) is quite common. The reverse is rarer. Hopefully, as far as Hagane is concerned, this gives them a boost with new musicians and singers.

Guess this is why Akane didn’t like all female bands and was initially hesitant in joining Band Maid. Fortunately she knew Kanami beforehand and trusted her seriousness for music enough to not only join but rope in Misa along for the ride as well. Now that they’re celebrating their 10th anniversary, seems like Kanami really managed to keep that trust alive. It’s no wonder she’s always working her as off. This might also be the reason why Kanami never takes personal credit for any of the songs and goes the extra mile to give everyone a chance to shine. Considering her meticulous nature, she probably planned it all out systematically to avoid all such troubles rampant in the Japanese girlband scene.

Well everyone leaves for different reasons,MISA was going to leave band maid until they played in Seattle and thought maybe this could be something big in the near future

While it still hasn't been confirmed, I have a theory about what exactly happened with HAGANE. After Lockdown ended, Sakura started getting involved with Falcom Sound Team JDK and Bushiroad Media. With Falcom Sound Team JDK, it's implied that she wrote or at least recorded the guitar parts for several tracks for the "Kuro no Kiseki" OST (based on the titles of some of her KZbin videos where she plays tracks from that exact game). She also started touring with JDK Band, which is affiliated with Sound Team JDK, and performs the music from Falcom's games live on stage in Japan, China and Korea (they're particularly popular in China and Korea). Going on several tours in Asia with JDK Band would naturally have made it difficult for her to tour with HAGANE during that time, or even do rehearsals with the band. It's not unthinkable that Kanako, Uyu and Mayto simply got enough of the band (HAGANE) not making much progress. They didn't have a label, and thus had to pay for everything themselves, and had to do all the promotion. Sakura seeing some success both with her KZbin channel and with JDK Band might not have sat well with the others, given that she only became more successful after HAGANE started taking off, while the others were left behind. So Uyu and Mayto left to form Mana Diagram, Kanako joined the incredibly short-lived Garden of the Lilium (which only released one single, and hasn't been heard from again). And I'm pretty sure Sayaka is/was in University, and thus didn't really mind the lower time-commitment, so she just stuck around. And if JDK Band's tours weren't enough to make the other members leave, it was probably around the same time as HAGANE's "disbandment", that Sakura was scouted by Bushiroad Media for the newest addition to their D4DJ franchise, the Electro-Rock group EGO_EGG. This would naturally mean that Sakura would have even less time for HAGANE, so if she let the other band members know that she would be taking on another huge project, I would understand why they would leave. I don't think Sakura necessarily made any bad decisions, but I also don't blame Uyu and Mayto for leaving if it's because they felt that Sakura wasn't prioritizing their band high enough. At least they gave a final show together. I want to point out that this is all speculation, and should not be taken as fact. It's just one fan's crazy theory about what may have happened to cause three of HAGANE's members to leave. Why did Kanako not join Uyu and Mayto in Mana Diagram? That's anyone's guess. Regardless of what actually happened, I'm glad that Sakura has found a new vocalist (Nagi) and drummer (JUNNA) for HAGANE, and that Uyu and Mayto are being amazing in their new band. And in Mayto's case also being support guitarist for freaking HIZAKI's solo project (you know, the HIZAKI from the Visual Kei/Power Metal bands Versailles and JUPITER and one of the greatest Japanese shredders of all time). Girl's moving up in the world.

This is good because the guitar playing much more advance….the vocals,drummer, and the bass can’t keep up. Hagane should consider male band members if they want to evolve…..need vocalist who can write music heavy metal, not background music for anime cartoon show…

This isn't like Lovebites. This is like Destrose. Everyone left the band except the leader. If you haven't heard Destrose they have great songs and it's current members of Nemophila(guitar) and Lovebites(drums). And also the former bassist of Lovebites. Well, that is the version I heard. I have their album on my phone. There are other versions Destrose had 20+ members.

Got this from a metal discography website, not mentioning the name because youtube is going to hate it. I can also not say how many of these were official members and which were guests (like Mina does with Fate Gear). Also there might be doubles in there because of them splitting up the Live members (Saki is a double). But a couple of other notable bands. The majority of members and ex-members of Mary's Blood were in Destrose at one point, Mardelas' singer was in there and Disqualia and Pinkish Crown seemed to have started out of Destrose as well. @@tsunderedwin I did not know this. I always thought everyone basically left. But to be fair to that site, the 3 members in the "last known lineup" on there are Miho, Narumi and RISA☆RISA. So I guess I should have known even when these types of things can be very unreliable when it comes to dead bands.

Are you still a band if 3/5 of the group leaves? The upside of this is that they are still dedicated to play a show three months out. This sound like we are going to get a revamped Hagane and maybe a shiny new j-metal group out of this. I guess we wait and see. As a fan of alt-idol groups, you get used to the revolving door but it always feels different when it’s a rock/metal band.

Lead guitarist Sakura basically does all the music (Lyrics, Composition and Arrangement), so they should be fine in theory. At least, if you call what Destrose was and Fate Gear is fine. I am sure Sakura will learn from this, Mina learned somewhat from it in Fate Gear after Destrose split even though Fate Gear has been a revolving door as well. Fate Gear uses a lot of guest musicians now, their vocalist has been a mix of guests for a while now, that can be an option for the 2 remaining members of Hagane. I get where you are coming from though, I am not that familiar with idol and alt-idol groups, but I personally wouldn't call the new BiSH "BiSH" any more.

@@sjnix7044 I always thought the same thing and Destrose and Mina were also the first thing my mind went to. That said I bought a livestream ticked to a live set by Fate Gear a month or 2 ago and their ex-bassist Erika (Pinkish Crown) still plays with them live (she left a year or so ago and is not credited on any of the new EP's). I was really curious how that would effect the stage presence, but all of them seemed to have fun and Mina didn't try to steal the show or anything like that and seemed pretty reserved. I would even go as far to say that the vocalist they use live, Nana (Theo Nova, Gungire) stole the show for me. The vocals were the main reason why I bought the ticket because I generally don't enjoy the vocal production on their albums, but she was pretty good live. So I genuinely think Mina learned from Destrose and the beginning of Fate Gear, it's just that some creative people can be difficult to work with and can be very controlling. It's possible Mina and Sakura in the case of Hagane are also like this.

Hagane's second guitarist name was Sakura Yoshida. Maybe she has get married using now family name Toba. Not any knowledge, just popped in my mind. And further, when Lovebites Miyako and Asami and Nemophila's Mayu get married, they pretty soon had babies. If Hagane's Sakura is also going to have a baby, it maybe explains the band splitting, just maybe. Speculation is always fun.

I'm gonna help a little bit, because it's a slightly mistranslated. So what they really mean, based by the text: "Sakura (Guitarist) & Sayaka (Bassist) will look for new members and continue HAGANE".
