@@MagdalenaThereminIt is indeed a song by Garmarna, but it is also an old folksong like Uti var hage (out in the forest) There is a lot of subtext in those old folksongs besides them being beautiful.

Thank you🖤 I just regret that theremins nowadays don't have the same timbre as before (when you listen to the old tracks of Clara Rockmore is it obvious that those theremins were different). On the other hand there are for sure many who love the "present timbre"

KZbin recommend, old Swedish christian propaganda song, but its played on a theremin, is not a recommendation I expected.

It is actually a traditional folk song, first published in 19th century, but possibly much older, some sources say as old as medieval times. But Christian undertones are of course present as you pointed out.

@@MagdalenaTheremin It’s really all over the place from when the song was written, depending on who you ask and which source you use. To me, it’s certainly not medieval. At that point Swedish was still in the Old Norse/Early Old Swedish phase. The song definitely uses older language, but not that old. If I was to guess I’d say it’s from around maybe 1800. Some also say that it was written in the 1900s mimicking older language. Anyway, thanks for the cover!

@@Random-ob7dc I am far from expert on that field, so I cannot authoritatively say if it was from medieval times or not. The language is definitely not medieval as you say, the melody - we will never know. I based my supposition on its inclusion in collection Sveriges medeltida ballader (Sweden medieval ballads) created by Swedish state song archive between 1983 and 2001.
