This task was a special project planned with subscriber. Rolfs (Amity) has been a huge leather brand loved for over 100 years. It is a brand that young people do not know well these days because it is out of business now. There are people who can't throw away old things. Because they remember its value. I hope you can feel the nostalgia of that time with this video.

I wrote it in the subtitles, but a lot of people keep asking. Stamping is correct. Celine has four children have Dan in their name. So It's a kind of family joke. "Four Dan Love Dad" is her final decision.

This is so heartwarming from every person involved. The person who gifted the wallet 30 years ago, the one who held on to that wallet for 30 long years, and the one who carefully re-crafted it after 30 years hoping for 30 more years of the wallet memory! Kudos!

Watching this reminds me of when I bought this beautifully well kept wallet that had to be around 77 years old at the time back in 2016 at an antique shop my uncle owned. I love anyhing vintage from clothes to cars to music so I was ecstatic when I found and purchased the wallet. When I was putting my stuff from my previous wallet to the new (old) wallet I stumbled across a paper folded many times in one of the compartments. It was a hidden compartment so it probably was missed when it was being cleaned out to be put up for sale. Expecting a receipt of some sort to reveal itself but instead I stumbled on an old TTC bus schedule for July 23, 1954. I have the schedule laminated and displayed along with my other little findings including an original piece of film from the movie Young Frankenstein which I bought from a trip to NYC. Anyways, as someone who loves wallets this was cool to watch. Really enjoyed it and you have some real talent.

Funny I had two great finds from the Paris flea market. Back when 'vintage' meant just second hand and wasn't chic I bought a beautiful snakeskin handbag with gold lock, fab quality for almost nothing and inside was the lady's whole life, her visiting cards, bank details, accounts, door codes, everything but from the 60's so no longer viable. I have kept her visiting card as a souvenir. Another find was a black evening purse bought again for almost nothing, it had a gorgeous clasp. Inside was over 30,000 old french francs in huge notes, worthless as currency but a lovely find. Now 'vintage' purses are expensive. I had almost 600 vintage purses at one point, all bought for pennies. I actually use a canvas cross body bag bought for one euro, hands free style ! Love your story

This was so bomb. Just incredible, your talent is unmatched. I've made lots of things, but the wallet is one of the hardest and most time consuming, each step is a matter of millimeters, there is just no room for error. Rolf"s!!! Loves me some Rolf's. That was the height of suburban America in the latter half of the 20th century. I worked in a leather goods store in the mall in high school in 1987 and totally recognize that design. In English it would be called a billfold instead of a wallet because of the lack of a closure (35 years later i still remember some of the things I learned at that job. Absolutely STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL!!!! I have a wallet I got when I was in London back in 1998. It’s my favorite wallet and it is worn completely out. I have tried to find another one like it and have been unsuccessful… so guess what? Yep… I made one exactly like it with a little tweak of my own … I’m completely new at leatherwork but I’m so OCD about perfection that I will do something over and over again until I get it right.,. Several practice wallets on trash leather scraps and pieces of fake leather and I think I have finally figured it out and can proceed to make the real one with nice leather! Wish me luck!

I just discovered this channel yesterday. I enjoy the filming aesthetics, perspectives, close-ups, lightning, material of the surroundings/ stages, hands as conscious part of the dance, the timing how materials are put in front of the camera lens in space, how the cutting and working out of handcraft-material is dynamic and balanced but also sensual and calm, the same for the cutting-decisions of the film-material, the high-quality-sounds in it sometimes with ASMR-Useability, the clean/ dry- to- dramatic-story-telling, some humor, presenting some pieces like superstars at the end; independent from being used or being build, all the effort which is brought to the whole production and storytelling, the kindness in words, the fact of giving used things new life and taking it serious- to make them shine and also seeing humans and their emotions and needs behind it. For me this is enjoyable and, yes, healing-and its catching up with a wholesome(!!)-high-end-attitude to a lot of aspects of life.Thats beautiful inside and outside! So, thank you ( and team?) for all of that!!!!

Absolutely astonishing. Watching this made me take a closer look at my own wallet. I had never noticed the fact that the back part folds over the front, or the crease marks in the pockets but God Damn if those little touches dont make it look better. Thanks

This is a gorgeous wallet, I love the inside lining a lot. I love the simplicity. I got a wonderful wallet from my dad that’s the perfect size and I love the message but I would love to get a similar one but maybe overall a little more functional but I’m not sure what to replace with it and I would like to keep the nice engraving and overall look. This wallet gave me those kinda vibes that when you find a good wallet you want to keep it for a long time.

I'm glad you have mentioned the fun fact. I've been made fun by family for caring for and balming my leather craft but never my own skin :)

This was so sweet. Celine reminds me of... myself 3 years ago on the hunt to replace my boyfriend's dream wallet that was also super beat up. The company also ran out of business. He really liked the sideways pockets like the left side of your custom wallet. Why is it so hard to find a wallet like that omg. I ended up buying his new wallet from Mr.Lentz and the craftsmanship of it really made me appreciate leatherworkers and leather goods!

This was an incredible show of craftsmanship and a beautiful finished product. That being said the design is perfectly standard and is by no means one-of-a-kind so it seems a little silly for him to keep the same wallet all this time because he couldn't find another like it

I am not one to watch something like this but the title intrigued me. Wallets have been an issue for me for years. You would think with so many companies and options available it would be easy. It’s not. Finding something that is designed the way I like is just impossible. There is always compromise involved no matter what. The shape, color, layout as far as compartments go. I have to give up one thing for the other. Then finding out that this was for someone that had a sentimental reason for your project I sat down and watched. I instantly fell in love with your skill, care and meticulous work. Stamping the name on it was the final touch. The wallet was beautiful and a piece of art as far as the craftsmanship goes. I watched the video 2 times because I was just amazed of how much work it required to make a high quality wallet. The music selection was spot on matching the video perfectly. While random as it was to pop up on my You Tube I am thankful for having the opportunity to see your work.

A good master is also a good person. The video I watched today is a proof of that. You look at the lady as a human, not a customer. This way of thinking is only the point of view of a true master. It was a beautiful video and it got me emotional. Health to your hands and heart.
