Thank you for this video! I attempted making this twice. I’m really happy with how the second one turned out but I didn’t use veg tanned leather so I need to add a button or something to hold the flap down! Came out great! One thing I noticed though is the airpods don't look like they can open all the way. Maybe this could be remedied by carving a few grooves on the inside of the bend.

ok, THAT'S IT! I'm buying my leather making tools from Weaver now as we speak! THIS IS AWESOME! I have been watching leather working videos for some time now and it looks fun and easy ( I feel like I can pick it up fairly quickly ) and I have always wanted to start so I can make myself wallets and things of that sort. I recenly got an apple watch and since there are hardly any bands for my wrist size I thought about making my own and started watching videos. Now I suddenly got the urge to watch more videos and I though " HEY, if I can make an Apple watch band, I can probably make an AirPods case!" and BOOM! This video has officially been the catalyst for me to start my leather crafting adventure !

하안님 안녕하세요. 하안님의 유툽영상을 좋아하는 1인입니다. 제가 처음 넋을 놓고 보던 에어팟케이스 만드는 영상이 벌써 3년전이라니.. 하안님 영상을 시작으로 가죽공예영상들을 많이 시청하게 되었네요. (알고리즘의 무서움🤭) 제가 하안님께 글을 쓰게된 이유는 뜬금없지만 감사를 표하고 싶어서요. 그 이유는 ..저희 아빠는 제가 태어나기 전부터 가방을 만드는 분이셨어요. 그때 당시엔 이렇다할 직함도 없었던것 같네요. 제 기억엔 '박사장님'이셨죠. 어릴적 부터 자연스럽게 미싱소리, 망치소리, 본드냄새, 가죽냄새, 기름냄새들을 맡고 자랐고.. 그래서 처음 하안님의 영상을 보고 넋을 놓고 봤어요. 꼭 아빠가 가방을 만드시던 과정을 다시 보는것같아 너무 정겨웠습니다. 아빤 서울에서 이른나이에 야심차게 경영하셨던 공장을 IMF로 닫으셔야했고, 월세방도 구하기 힘들었던 저희 네식구는 외가집의 도움으로 엄마 고향에 살게 되었고 평생 해보지도 못하신 험한일을 시작하시며.. 다시는 원단이나 도안을 볼일도 만질일도 없어지셨고 시간이 흘러 제가 서른을 넘긴 성인이되어서 우연히 보게된 하안님의 에어팟 케이스 제작영상으로 아빠와 한참을 신나게 이야기 나눴습니다. 원래 아빠와 이야기를 많이 하는 편이지만 서로의 옛기억을 공유하며 이야기한것은 정말 오랜만이었어요. 그 후로 같이 시청을 많이 합니다. 맨처음 보여드렸을땐 흥미도 없으시다가 "이야.. 저 본드통 정말 오랜만에 본다." 하시더니 어느순간 당신만의 노하우까지 신이나게 설명하시다가 영상 끝자락엔 뭔가 씁쓸함이 잔뜩 묻어나 제가 더 울컥해서 괜히 보여드렸나.. 생각했지만 아주 오랜만에 생기발랄했던 박사장님을 잠시 볼 수 있었어요. 지금 이곳은 아빠의 연고지도 아니니 친구도 친가식구도 없이 항상 외로워하셨고 앞으로 무슨일을 해야할지 고민많으신 56세 꽃중년이십니다. (상당히 젊으시죠? 딸이 서른이 넘었는데.. 20살에 제가 생겨서 가방을 더 많이 만드셔야했어요ㅎㅎ IMF땐 너도 나도 다 망해서..잼민이 저는 다 그런줄알았구요🥲) 지금 생각해보니 아빠의 청춘을 갈아넣은 가방공장을 닫고 얼마나 힘드셨을지 저는 감히 상상도 되지도 않네요. 그런 우리박사장님께서 최근에 위암을 선고받고 수술을 앞두고 계십니다. 다니시던 회사도 정년을 못채우시고 퇴사하시고.. 병원에 계시는 동안 저는 아빠와 하안님의 영상을 시청하며 곁을 지킬 예정입니다. 앞으로도 지금처럼 좋은 영상, 재미있는 영상들 기대하며 항상 응원하겠습니다. 감사합니다😊

안녕하세요 비비아나님, 인터넷도 없던 시절 제조 기반으로 힘들었던 우리나라가 경쟁력을 가질 수 있는 발판을 마련해 주신 게 아버님같은 가죽공예 1세대 분들이십니다. 전 항상 그분들이 이태리 프랑스 보다 훨씬 더 대단한 장인이라고 생각하며 감사드리고 있습니다. 제 영상으로 어린 시절 추억을 떠올리실 수 있었다니, 같은 시대를 살아가는 한 인간, 아버지로써 응원을 보내드리고 싶습니다. 저 또한 딸아이를 두고 있는데 이제 막 말을 하기 시작한 아이가 어눌한 발음으로 아빠 가방 만들었어? 작업실 갔어? 하는 게 너무 신기하고 벅차오르는 알 수 없는 감정이 들더군요. 분명 아버님께서도 비비아나님을 키우시며 그런 감정이 드셨을 거라고 생각됩니다. 곧 큰 수술을 앞두고 계신다니 많이 힘드시겠지만, 따님이 곁에 있어주신다면 분명 가장 큰 힘이 될 거라고 생각합니다. 오늘은 제가 유튜브를 하게 된 게 정말 잘했다고 생각 되는 의미 있는 날이네요. 제가 오히려 비비아나님께 감사드려야 할 것 같습니다. 정말 감사합니다. 그리고 제 실력이 부족하더라도 아버님께 귀엽게 봐주시면 감사하겠다고 꼭 전해주세요. 고맙습니다!

If you make the botton part so the case can slide easily you can fully open the lid as the bottom part is moving up and down
