happy to help! i started as a seasonal too. my hiring group was offered permanent blue badge after 30 days, i think due to the warehouse needing workers. you'll get an email when the opportunity is available to become blue badge. the warehouses are always needing workers so i think you'll have a good chance. have a great first day and first week. come back and let us know how it went!

I’m getting paid 21$ cad an hour for overnight (11:00pm to 9:30am) including the 2$ bonus so that’s 16$usd an hour I’m a seasonal worker meaning my contract lasts for 3 months

i remember picking up a few late night shifts. the night shift was way easier and more relaxed then the day shifts. from my experience everyone who was seasonal in my hiring group was given an opportunity to be permanent (blue badge)! this was due to the high turnover rate.

Area manager? it's a salary position i believe. anyone can apply for it. i had 3 area managers that were outside hires with no warehouse experience. not a position for me, 20 hrs a week is more than enough for me.

1. optional but your whole life is on that app. you can clock in/out on it. quit, check pay stub, etc. 2. access to it is given on day 1. theres a special code you need in order to create an account. 3. day 1 is when they give you a special code to get access to it.

Can you move up positions with starting as a warehouse worker to a managment position?

I have seen it but it’s hard. It’s easier to come in as manager. All of my managers were outside hire. One was from a dental office, one was in HR for an oil and gas company, etc. it’s difficult because the managers come and go so often it’s hard to be recognize one day and a new manager comes in and has no idea who you are.

yes they train you. i was part time and training was 2 days with a "trainer" floating around. most people grasp it within a few hours. it's okay, the work is not difficult, just repetitive. i made a bunch of mistakes but it's okay thats how we learn.

for warehouse positions there are no interviews. basic casual clothes is fine. shorts, athletic shorts, sneakers, t shirt. i wish amazon was around when i was 18. i would love to make $15+/hr straight out of high school. my first job was at KOHLS and they paid me $6.50/hr. At Amazon i worked with many straight out of high school co workers. when you have bills, any job is better than no job.

there is a point system when I was there. it's all automated. if you are tardy at getting back to work after breaks it's called time off task i believe. you can get fired for it.

i hardly ever used the box cutter. i think you may use it if you accidentally taped up a box and need to reopen. you don't need it when you rebin. you won't need it when you induct. i don't think you can bring your own knife.

I applied for a shift that said 6pm-4:30am but I was hoping to be able to only work half of that for part time like 6pm-11pm instead. I searched for part time shifts and only 10 hour shifts came up so I was very confused and am planning on waiting until the pre hire appointment to ask someone about it. I keep seeing conflicting information when I research. You say you can’t do that, while other sources say it’s possible. 🤷‍♀️

During the online application you will see the available time shifts that you can select. If there’s nothing for part time available you’ll just have to keep checking back and see if something opens up. From my experience I worked part time on the weekends only and my shifts were 10 hrs Saturday-Sunday. I have seen a few random 5-6 hour shifts as well but I’m guessing those get taken up pretty fast.

When you apply it’s a set schedule. You won’t get any surprises. I worked with a bunch of college students. $350 for 2 days work, I’ll take that. Now the only surprise is during the holidays, they require you work an extra hour.

Hey Surgar Family! I have a question, I am a truck driver and got trouble smoking weed. I am going for orientation tomorrow and probably work there starting this Thursday. My work schedule is Thursday through Sunday and I have to work here at least a month while I am doing rehab and once I finish rehab I am planning to go back to my trucking job. My question is that, I am free on Sat and Sunday and I was wondering If they could hire me as part-time job. When you apply online one of the first thing that you select is available shifts. Whichever shift you select will be your schedule. So if you select Thursday - Saturday then that will be your schedule. If you only want to work Saturday and Sunday then you’ll have to reapply and select those days if they are available.

AFE is the name of the area. Training day was 2 days for me. The first day Is no different than any other day, except that there’s a “trainer” walking around in case you need help. Once you’re in AFE you can ask the manager for preferences of where you like to work. I like packing because it’s more chill.

i wasn't able to choose my position. i just applied as a warehouse fulfillment employee. there's an online assessment, i'm guessing they determine where you will be according to that. now what you do also determines where you apply. not all warehouses do the same thing. there are Amazon fulfillment centers (those are the enormous warehouses). there's also Whole Foods. There's Delivery Centers (smaller and usually overnight). i'm sure there's more but that's all i can think of.

its possible. when you do the online application there will be time shifts to choose from. if you see nothing, that means there are no positions available. sometimes i see a flex position show up (usually for whole foods). the flex position is 1 day a week for 5-6 hours from what i've seen.

i am not sure. did you check the spam box? i would contact the HR office to be sure. you don't want to show up for day 1 and be surprised.

Can you "create" your own schedule?/ Will they work with your schedule?

you choose your schedule before you apply. there's a list of available schedules to choose from. it's one of the first steps in the application. check out my Day 1 how to apply video.

Hey what rate did you have to meet for single pack ?

it's been a while but i think it was around 100. honestly i don't remember many people hitting the rate.

just apply and talk to HR and your area manager afterwards. it won't affect you getting hired
