After what felt like the longest season we have ever raced, it finally came to a close here in Las Vegas. The 2024 SMX Series had concluded, resulting in Haiden Deegan claiming the 250 SMX title with a 34-point-lead! It was such an awesome year filled with racing, gaining knowledge, and working our way to the top- in the end, we are seeing results from all of the nonstop work and dedication that has been put into this sport... And when he won at Loretta’s … I’ve watched his whole amateur career where he dominated and now his sophomore year as a pro and already has 3 championships !!! I can't tell you how happy I am for this kid and his family - As a motorsport Dad I know the euphoric feelings they're experiencing right (on a smaller scale of course) ...I was stressing and keeping my fingers crossed on this one because even with 5 straight wins, due to the triple points scoring he could still lose it all with a bad final Moto finish. But that didn't happen, Deegs rode smart and backed it off at the end and managed the Championship. I'm savoring this win and the whole season almost as if it were my own kid that won it.

I have to wonder, once Haiden got passed Ty, it sure looked like he was going to put off any chance of riding smart and going for the win. That's when he aired out that huge single and hit that berm like a rocket, but then he caught himself and backed off to ensure the Championship. That must have been a very hard place to be in. I know he could have caught Brown, but with not good lighting, going WFO, it would not have been the best move although I'm sure it would have been extremely possible for him, but it was such a relief when I saw him back it off and settle for 2nd. At that age, settling is not in one's vocabulary, but the maturity of this kid is growing about as fast as his dominance in this class. Way to go Deegan Fam, that was as perfect as was possible and the wisdom has paid off and paid off well. Congrats Haiden. Well done.

The most exciting modo I've watched so far this year man when you jumped into the berm full throttle I was on my seat that was absolutely amazing
