I think seeing Jett be able to just turn it on when Ferrandis was closer than he wanted him was beyond special. It's incredibly difficult to have that level of control at that level of speed. Most guys are either riding as fast as they can or cruising. I don't know that we've ever seen a rider that can dial it up or down at 5 percent intervals before. Like Eli could turn it on and go beast mode at times, but it wasn't at will and he couldn't dial it back when he needed too. Jett just has this control over himself and the bike that's truly special. And the scary thing is it looks like he still has another level left we haven't seen yet. We really haven't seen him hang it out like he occasionally did on the 250 when he would get buried on the start. I'm almost hoping he gets a somewhat bad start so we can see him turn it on.
@lifeisgood3589 Жыл бұрын
2 words " Ricky Carmichael " There was no dialing up and down. He was so much faster then everyone else outdoors that he would put 30 - 60 seconds on the entire field. He lapped the entire field including JS7 in one race. Only rider in history to do it btw. Not one but 2 perfect seasons with a few more perfect seasons not winning both motos but did win every the overall. If he did crash he had all day to get back up and was still 15-30 sec ahead. He could also crash on the start and then come from last to first. That is the speed and GOAT we may never see again ......... The first perfect season he did it on a 2 stroke with several 450's in the field
@seanhaberman4619 Жыл бұрын
@lifeisgood3589 Yes everyone is familiar with Ricky Carmichael and his body of work. The thing about his 2 perfect seasons is he had no competition either year. The best guy was Chad Reed, who at the time was young and primarily an SX specialist. He did one more season where he only lost 2 motos, which was nearly as impressive as the 2 perfect runs. For everyone who praises RC for his perfect season and talks shit about Jett for having no competition they need to go back and watch the races. Ricky had no one who was even close to him. It was just him doing practice laps every round. Jett has had stiffer competition than Ricky did but you all want to say it's being handed to him. Ricky was great, but he didn't have the control Jett has. No one else has ever been able to control themselves and the bike so effortlessly. The kid is unlike anything we've ever seen. And Ricky will tell you the same thing.
@lifeisgood3589 Жыл бұрын
@@seanhaberman4619 With a strait face you really believe a Jet Lawrence could dominate a prime Ricky Carmichael ? No way you believe that. We all saw how Ricky handled a prime James Stewart and Europe's best ever Stephan Everett's ..... RC dominated both. RC would make Jett crash outdoors trying to keep up just like he did Stewart. No argument you could give would make anyone that follows moto with any brains believe what your trying to say here
@seanhaberman4619 Жыл бұрын
@@lifeisgood3589 Oh I 100% believe Jett is faster than Ricky ever was. So are Villo, Eli, and Sexton. Ricky would get smoked in today's era. If you don't think so you're a clown. The game has changed and dudes are way faster now than they were when RC ran the show. Jett or any other champ in the past 10 years would wreck Ricky and he would be the first to admit it. You're stuck in the past and it's showing badly.

But if you don't believe RC was better then any of these 1 & 2 or maybe 3 championship guys to RC 10 strait then your an "idiot" ...... See how that works ???? . Jet has won just 5 races against a depleted field, he has a long way to go

You know what JS- You could have been an elite scientist or an astronaut or an actor or a senator or a writer. You have so many natural gifts it crazy- And then you combine that with a no BS solid upbringing and you end up with the type of guy who can just walk into the booth at Red Bud and carry the whole day by himself if necessary simply by genuinely being himself and describing his own thoughts as he watches the race. Im sure it’s not exactly easy and certainly fucking exhausting to stay so composed all day while choosing the right words in a clear talking manner- but it sure makes it easy for everyone else to still wanna watch every minute of hours of dirt bike races even tho we already pretty much know who the winners will be. We salute you Bubba- and congrats. ✌🏻 Now it’s time to let loose and wig-out at the Rewind baby- You already know- hit it Cole. 😂😂😂

Deegan has been very good for his age and experience. People are getting ahead of themselves calling him generational or even assuming him to be a 450 champ at this point. He certainly appears to have the potential and has done great as a rookie. He's far from dominant and has 1 moto win. I like him and his family and wish him well. Y'all stans pre-GOATing him are nuts though. Jett is just starting his generational resume this year. If Jett continues this for 2+ seasons of his current stature, we can have that conversation. One thing I will say about Jett though is that he's making people re-consider some long held norms about riding technique/style. That is something special and I can't think of a rider except James Stewart that you can point out that completely changed the game. RC did too but moreso in the training realm than pure technique/style. I doubted Jett winning this season going in and he's proving me wrong while making it look easy. That's pretty special. Let's see if Haiden can give Jett a run in 2 years. He needs to win some 250 titles first before we're even in the realm of having the conversation you're proposing.

As much as I love your breakdown of the boys technique, mindset, and bike setup... I see you looking more fit like your old professional self this year... And I just finished my gritty 53 and looking for more out of my 54... Dowd was 47 pulling that 3rd at Southwick... You ain't even 40 yet... What would it take? $10 million a year? Dungey survived a solid top 5 outdoors season. Just lets all agree on one thing... stop telling these kids in their 30's that they're too old or old at all... Anyone healthy with moto skills can be top 5 competitive into their mid 40's... imo... You can't lose that "Feelin Dangerous" vibe... but if you can mix that with your wisdom... I'm looking forward to the future and seeing the science of health and fitness keep some guys going or even let some late bloomers get it going later in their life... Your advice to Chase Sexton is priceless. Truth is... Chase might be ready to comeback for some more JS7 coaching... the best coaches I've ever seen in life piss their athletes off a bit with the truth... and I'm a truther for real... so Chase, humble yourself and talk with your boy JS7 who knows exactly what you need to be doing with what you got to get that Aussie boy waxing you every week. Congratulations Danger!!!! Jett is dialed better than 1800COLLECT. Levi should be up in the top 3 every week... not sure why he isn't??? As young as he is with his natural talent... so long as Levi stays healthy... I expect him to win a lot more and a solid contender for championships... ✌😎🏁
