Watching Kuroo and Kenma's backstory of how they started playing volleyball made me think of how much Hinata loves volleyball. Just like coach Nekomata said "What one likes, one will do well", Hinata continues to play during his middle school days just by himself without real teammates just by his sheer love of volleyball 😇

i kinda disappointed the movie cut ukai grandpa and nekomata coach backstory like its literally so emotional and make the dumpster battle more meaningful bc many ppl looking forward to this battle for a long time :( also bc i want to see young ukai grandpa animated 🙊

As Coach Ukai said, "This match belongs to these kids now" the focus on the relationships between Karasuno and Nekoma, Shoyo and Kenma, and Kenma and Kuroo makes it easy to understand even for people who are not familiar with Haikyu!! However, wanting to see the coaches in their younger years in the anime will be an opportunity for such beginners to read the original manga.

it won't happen, but i wish they'd break the movie out into a season like kny mugen train and add back all the cut content. like how kuroo was the shy one and kenma was somehow his emotional support extrovert. or how karasuno cheered so hard when they won the 2nd set the crowd was confused bc their reaction was like they'd won the whole match - bc it was the first set karasuno ever won off nekoma ever! small details but it breathes life into their relationship and the story!
