On my 16th birthday I just stayed home and celebrated with my mom, dad, and two of my sisters. I received only 3 gifts, and I’m thankful. This just shows not everyone is privileged enough to afford stuff like this.

This is not privileged. Privileged is your parents making you work for your first car so that you learn the value of hard work and money. If you have family that loves you and teaches you character, then you are privileged.

You gotta be kidding with the "brand new car." I'm not one of those people that begrudges wealthy people buying stuff for their kids. So long as the kids do well in school, which should be their first priority. I grew up with probably more money than you guys have and I was bought a nice car as well. But not for MY VERY FIRST CAR! That's insanity. Six months at least of jeez, a beater? At least like a used Honda. Until the kid learns to drive? I've seen so many 16 year olds wreck fancy cars. I've seen two separate 16 year old girls blow out the engines of brand new BMWs because they didn't know about changing the oil. I don't know. Its crazy to me
