I completely agree; holiday reads can go for the whole year, whenever you want to feel that vibe haha :)

I ended up reading The Matzah Ball and The Holiday Swap and A Holly Jolly Diwali just last week because the audiobooks didn't become available until then! So I completely relate to belated holiday reads!

I want to read the Matzah Ball! How did you like it?
@LaurasLilLibrary3 жыл бұрын
@@exploringmegan I enjoyed it, it really is just a fun second chance/enemies to lovers romance while rediscovering family values. I found it to be funny and a fast read

I agree with your view for Eight Perfect Hours! I didn’t even get close to halfway through, the characters were just boring or annoying and the chemistry was so pushed.

I think I gave The Project 3 stars. Reading it I could totally see how someone skeptical of cults could be sucked into joining one even if it were completely opposite of their views.

i read blame it on the mistletoe bc i had a netgalley arc and i’m gen z but the writing was just not…good. the phrases and writing seemed so outdated and forced. honestly, it was a disappointment to me.

I DNFed Nick and Noel's Christmas Playlist because the petty drama between Noel and Nick's ex was too much and I didn't want to deal with it.

I DNFed "The Matzah Ball." I just couldn't see how a rivalry from childhood that occurred over 1 summer at camp would last until the characters' 30s. Plus the MC's Christmas fetish was a little weird... Only good part was disability/chronic illness rep, but that's the only thing I can think of.

I read The Cost of Knowing last year and I found it quite underwhelming. It has potential, but the message was so heavy handed, so on-the-nose, that it looses impact. Like, one of characters is this racist white lady stereotype. She's a member of the home owners association, her husband is a policeman, hates hiphop music, and on top of that her name is actually Karen. Its almost like someone was trying to make a joke, and not a very funny one. Also, the moment that violinist showed up at the stage my eyes rolled so far into my skull that I could see my brain. I agree with the fact that the magic element was weirdly handled. That whole plot point about facing your worse fear to get rid of your power made no sense. I gave it 3/5
