We know how hail can damage a car either while driving or while the car is just parked. I am not surprised the nose and windshield of the plane got that much damage, when taking the speed of the plane and falling hail in consideration. Am actually surprised the windshield did not take more damage. Glad pilots nowadays do not have to land planes by sight. Still kudos to the pilot crew

This was an Airbus plane so don’t blame Boeing

That wasn't hail. They were hit by all the bolts that the Boeing plane in front of them lost.
