I've tried a zillion things. The single things that actually worked in my case: A good diet, proper sleeping timings, moving your body atleast for 20 mins, eating right, using good shampoo as well as oil. I use only liiitleextraa cocoonnion organic hair oil shampoo for this reason plus it does the work. My hair fall got under control with it.

I appreciate the effort you put into making this video-it's truly valuable. My personal best decision in life was to turn to natural hair loss prevention products, and that's why I saved my hair. These natural products don't have expensive marketing campaigns, so you've probably never heard of them, but trust me, be sure to try them, and you'll thank me. I think Norlest has everything related to these natural formulas.

I'm grateful for the actionable tips you've shared in this video. Everyone is different, and not everyone has the same hair, but personally, natural recipes from Norlest have helped me a lot. My hair has regained its shine, and I'm really satisfied. My warm recommendation is to try these products because if nothing has helped you so far, then you have nothing to lose with this, and you can gain a lot.

After pregnancy, I noticed my hairfall but I stayed calm. I took action to to control it. I opted for a wellness-focused strategy. I prioritized my nutrition, having vitamin-packed foods, especially rich in Protein, Biotin. I worked out regularly and engaged in meditation for stress management. I avoided styles that pull on my hair and stopped using heated styling tools to minimise hair stress. I also started applying LittleExttra's Coconion shampoo, hair oil along with a wooden neem comb. The result was hair fall control and the return of my hair.

The time I faced hairfall, I followed all the following to successfully reduce it: Include hot oil scalp massages into your routine. Don’t use hot water when rinsing your hair. Shield your hair from too much sweat. Use a dual tooth neem wood comb to brush out wet hair. Decrease your sugar and junk food intake. Use natural anti hair fall shampoo and oil like littleeextra cocconion. Nurture a positive mindset for general well-being.

Things I’ve read looking into hair loss 1) dehydration 2) not enough sun 3) blood flow 4) notice a difference when drinking gatorade when I was sick with covid. My hair became significantly softer than drinking water. Is there a more healthier dink that does not have sugar? 5) over weight/ plus other health issues Diabetes/menopause 6) dry scalp 7) brushes that pulls hair out -- (not just hair ties) 8) flashbacks of a negative memory/ stress

The irony is that I thought I knew a lot about the subjects you've covered, but you have a way of making things simple to understand and you've dispelled a lot of the myths that I, and I'm sure others, have always believed. I also appreciate when you have a partnership video, like this one, you always state it right up front so people know from the get go. Hi, I recently had some patches and hair loss. I am a healthy 56 year old. My Dr said was due to stress, which I never thought I was stress but I guess it can happen. I started to do a different hair care routine and happy to say is all growing back. 1. I diluted my shampoo half water half shampoo.some shampoos are harsh and strong and this helps. 2 I deep condition my hair with natural hair mask each and every week. 3.I use Nioxin diluted with alovera gel. 4. I also use rosemary oil and pumpkin oil and massage but scalp every night. I stop putting my hair on tight buns etc. I have seen very wonderful results! All my hair and plus have been growing! I hope this help someone! Do your research each person is different and not all treatments work for everyone but for me this has worked! Thank you for such informative video!

Note: it's the 2% as opposed to the 5% because my scalp can't handle the 5%. We're talking can't-sleep-at-night irritation. I know Dr. Ellis is encouraging people to go for the big guns--and normally that's my attitude as well--but I've found the 2% still produces good results with consistent use.

@@emilynelson3504 thank you for that advice. Another youtuber recommends the target brand also. How many times a week do you apply it? I guess what I worry about is I have pets and I heard it is not safe for cats? @@lindsayb1329 I have a cat as well :) I've kept the Minoxidil safely in a bathroom cabinet where I know she can't get it, and she's not a cat who sleeps around my head or licks my hair or anything, so I feel it's safe. I've used Minoxidil 3 times in my life and applied it twice a day, morning and evening. My hair fall was due to extreme stress (telogen effluvium), so much of it has grown back in between those events as my life has calmed down. I still have some light thinning around my hairline but I just attribute this to getting older, and my hair is no longer coming out in alarming amounts. I've stopped using the Minoxidil and could probably still use it for the light thinning, but I've gotten lazy! I have some on backup in my cabinet, though, just in case the extreme shedding comes back.

Thank you for doing these videos. I had alopecia in one spot that was a little larger than the size of a quarter several years ago. At first, it looked like my hair color was just a little lighter, but it continued until all the hair was gone. I went to my dermatologist who gave me injections just in that area. I was very lucky that all my hair in that spot grew back and in my natural color (he said it might grow back gray or white). He also recommended using minoxidil and explained that it was the ONLY type of OTC product that would regrow hair.

I started losing my hair in my late teens early 20's. I've been on minoxidil for about 10 years. I still lose a lot of hair but I continue to use it not to lose whatever little I have. I'm 50 now and I think peri-menopause is causing my hair to shed more so I stated viviscal about 6 months ago. I also use good quality shampoo for hair breakage and scalp scrubs to keep my scalp clean. I'm thinking of oral medication next but my biggest regret is not seeing a dermatologist when I was younger. My PCP never took me seriously when I was younger and I just struggle with ways to cover my baldness. They never even mentioned a dermatologist. So this is my hairloss journey and I won't give up because as a woman it's devastating. 😞

I also came home to a partner who was newly diagnosed with low low WBC. I have always had very thick, strong, shiny hair. However, I started shedding all over the place, and didn't care about it at first-- as I was grieving-- until my SO (Significant Other), complained about it! I purchased some hair and nails supplements, and in short order, my hair stopped falling out. It has been my experience to support my body by giving it what it needs to do it's job properly. dr. ellis - i appreciate how very thorough you are - thank you for all of your work! my hair loss was caused by insufficient protein in my diet. i've seen at least five dermatologists who all had different ideas, none of which proved to be true. i lost so much hair that i broke five vacuums one year. oddly, but thankfully, my hair shedding stopped on a dime once i found out how much protein i should've been eating, and 3 or 4 weeks later it's still not crazily shedding like it was. i can't wait for those 4-12 months (if i understood what you said correctly) when i hope to see that at least some of my hair has grown back 🤞🏼. i believe that lots of older women may be in the same boat, as they seem to eat much less protein as they age, when they may actually need more.

I had the same thing happen to me. I found out after getting tested at my doctor's office that I was extremely deficient in vit. D3 which was causing the thyroid issue. I took Vit. D3 along with K2, cut out sugar and seed oils ( corn, soy, canola) and managed to grow back much of the enormous amount of hair I lost. It was scarey.

@Lika Souza Turns out my wonderful Doctor misdiagnosed me with Hyperthyroidism. I am now seeing a new doctor but since this post a year ago, I have shaved it and now its below my collarbone and much healthier. I am no longer vegan so I am getting more nutrients through my diet than I was when I was vegan and I take vitamins and supplements and have been better about being as active as I can. I went back to drugstore shampoos and conditioners bc they work better for my hair and now I pre-treat my hair with OGX's coconut penetrating oil before shampooing to protect my ends. I use rosemary water as a rinse after conditioner and I let my hair air dry 70% before using a heat protectant spray and blow dryer. My hair loss was most likely stress, depression and poor diet and sleep habits. I hope you're doing well and find a solution that works for you dear.

Such good information! I just noticed my hair was feeling so thin and learned about hair density and mine being extremely low, about an inch in my ponytail. I had always had super thick hair so this was alarming. I'm sure some of the hair loss is from Covid but also the dreaded messy bun as most of my loss is at my crown. Definitely going to check out some of these recommendations that you had!

I am so grateful to finally understand why I have massive, months-long shedding events! This has happened to me every few years and seemingly randomly. Now I realize it is stresssssssssssssssssss.I recently cut 4 inches and then another 3 inches of hair length because my pony tail became pencil thin. Thin long hair is never a good look! Now that 2 major sources of stress have been eliminated, I look forward to enhanced hair regrowth by implementing your professionally given suggestions. Can't wait to get started! Love your videos. Other things that have been a game changer for me include common sense measures. For example, I use to bulldoze my way through my hair. I now avoid combing and brushing my hair incessantly. I now use my fingers to gently work the tangles out. I also use a wide-tooth comb to gently comb out my hair before having my shower. Wet Detangler is my new bestie. I have found that the minoxidil does work if used correctly. I had written off my list till one day I ran across an article and realized I was not using it, as per the directions. Collectively, these things have made a huge difference in addressing my hair loss. As always, thanks for the great information.

Recently, the areas where I was applying the topical foam started to fall out!! Needless to say, I stopped using it immediately. There are also videos on KZbin showing technique of using a derma-roller. I would highly recommend! Stop eating things and supplements that block your estrogen, for example coffee and black tea or spirulina and diary. Try chlorella and more soy products or buy some phytoestrogen supplements. Also bad cholesterol and pre-diabetes can make hair worse, liver and kidneys affect hair as well. I started to lose hair after I implemented spirulina pills. I've noticed I started to have some thick hair growth over my body and my hair was similar to male hair loss. It took me years to realize that spirulina is the enemy of estrogen. So now that I've stopped taking it, and I have removed diary, sugar and bad cholesterol as well the little hair on my belly! Yup on the belly and around mouth suddenly disappeared. If you are male, you might have too much testosterone. Try chlorella pills to balance the hormones, or shatavari.

Thank you so much for this thoughtful video, Dr. Ellis. I've been to five doctors and learned more from you than all of them combined. I hate to say it but a whole lot of doctors (dermatologists included) just don't care anything about helping hair loss patients. I don't know if it's because it's confusing or what the reason is but it's a well known and frustrating situation in the hair loss community - and it sucks! We just really need help and so many of us get taken advantage of by companies pushing bad products. What is your opinion on using pumpkin seed oil to block DHT? I experienced hair loss after fasting and weight loss, and did find that nutritionally rehabing my diet and supplementing with biotin and collagen worked well for regrowing the hair very quickly. Maybe it would have grown back anyway, but I noticed improvements in my nails and skin, too. The typical American diet is probably already nutrient deficient. Especially if it's mostly processed foods. Now I eat once a day, feel great, keep the weight off, and have all my hair.

@@halimam4583 My understanding of vitamin supplementation - any supplement - is that it's only useful if your body is deficient in those vitamins to begin with. So, if your body has adequate stores of, say, B7, taking a B7 supplement won't do you any good. On the other hand, if your stores are really depleted it may take up to a couple years of supplementing before the deficit is resolved. In the case of poor nutrition over many years it's possible for that to happen, and then I can see where discontinuing B7 would result in the symptoms of a deficiency returning. Now, that's my understanding but I'm not a certified nutritionist. In any case, all my hair hadn't fallen out in the first place and I think if it did, I'd be consulting a doctor!

Okay so I have this issue. I stay on a prenatal vitamin, d3, zinc, biotin, and I take collagen peptides daily. I also eat a lot of green veggies and all of this combination has turned my nails from see through, bendable, and constantly breaking off to strong and the ends that extend beyond my finger are now white. I've been doing this for like 4 months and I expect them to get even better over time. I hope it eventually starts helping my hairloss. Girls do this and pray for me I’ve started losing my hair since I was 17 as it’s genetic in our family, then I started doing this routine a month ago and my hair has been growing like crazy I’m in no way a doctor or anything but this absolutely worked for me also if it’s genetic you have to always use this, 1- Use Derma roller 2-3 times a week 2- Get caffeine shampoo (keep it on your hair for 2-3 min then wash) and caffeine serum (use serum once a day) (I used alpecin brand for both) 3- get msm pills and squash them into powder in 100 mil of water shake well and spray your head 5 sprays once a day, 2 weeks use it 2 weeks rest (would recommend using it mid day or morning as it caused headaches in the beginning then they passed) (store in fridge) 4- jojoba oil + mint oil + rosemary oil and lavender oil mix together and apply them 2-3 times a week for half an hour to one hour (this is instead of minoxidil 5%)

Massaging in Jamaican black castor oil at the roots once a week at night. Stimulates hair growth, fights inflammation and dandruff fungus. Do it for 3 min and you will notice thicker hair! Stop over stripping your natural oils with sulphate shampoos. A healthy conditioned scalp has healthier root growth. Eat clean and healthy. Currently on chemo with cold caps, viviscal and castor oil. I still have a thick head of hair!!! But no hair anywhere else on my body. Proof these work. Haven’t even lost 20%

Really informative, can you do a video on how hair loss is determined to be scarring or non scarring - is this something you can work out without seeing a derm ?

This is the best video I have watch on hair loss ever, so thank you! Much of my hair loss is along the front of my hairline (receding hair line). Is this common for women? You mentioned female pattern hair loss being more at the center part and top of the head. I do feel over all thinning (smaller ponytail) but also the receding hairline. I am 54 with hypothyroidism and also post menopause.

@Lori A I went to dermatologist and I have genetic Female pattern hair loss. I am in menopause, had a hysterectomy 2018. My Mom and Dad both have thin hair. Mine is also thin around the front, I can see through fine hair to my scalp. Also last summer noticed it had thinned around crown in back of my hair. I have to comb hair over it every morning, it parts off and shows my scalp. So distressed. They say this is a mild case but I know it will only get worse. Want to try Rogaine, but have sensitive scalp + having to watch it fall out first is horrifying to me though she said it will eventually anyway. I am trying Nutrafol, but very expensive and I noticed some side effects for me anyway. This is so horrible. I think I need to be using 2 approaches and stay on for life. My overall hair is thinner too. I am 55. I know this is an old post, has anything worked for you? Thanks!

@@DEBSCULLY01 You're too old to be worrying about your hair thickness, lmao. Lots of girls start losing hair in their teens and early 20's.

@@DEBSCULLY01 You should try oral dutasteride. It works! And the best part is it has absolutely no side effects in women.

As others have written, you are a wonderful educator on this topic and I thank you! My question is, I have read online that frontal female hair loss just across the hairline, with deep margins on the sides like male pattern hair loss, and complete loss of the eyebrow tails has been shown or speculated to be caused by some ingredient in sunscreen. I'd like you to way in on this. I use sunscreen religiously AND this type of significant hair loss is my problem. I'm 60. Thank you!
