Alexandra's Core Recommendations:
1. Trim hair before it's needed, ask your stylist for a "dusting" to maintain length and maintain a clean closure on the ends (so they don't split and break!)
2. Explore a hair colour that you can maintain easily, taking into account cost, "wearability" with your wardrobe, and a shade that reflects your best self both literally with your skin tone and also your heart! For me, choosing to wear my hair closest to its natural colour was so much deeper than just "being" a dark brunette!
3. Find a practical routine that suits your willingness to style your hair, and splurge on the products that help you extend your look- time is money!
4. Play around in the mirror and see what looks best for you. Unfollow half of the "inspo" accounts you watch and start watching yourself to see how you can optimize your own #hair and overall beauty.
Here is a bright and sunny link land of my absolute best purchases in the hair department! Only the best made it into this list.

I have super curly hair and I feel like my worst mental health days are usually days when I can't keep my hair tamed. I think it's because everyone has so much pressure on them to maintain the appearance of perfection and effortless control in any situation. When my hair is messy or frizzy I feel like everyone is looking at me like I'm a feral animal lol

Me TOO. Honestly, just the other night, I washed my hair without blowdrying it and it took all night to dry. By the next afternoon, when it had just dried, it was greasy... Like, I didn't even get to enjoy clean hair because by the time it freaking dried, it was greasy again! I have tried EVERYTHING. Every remedy you can find, every technique, every cute little tip you can procure on the internet. Nothing has improved it whatsoever. Even going on hormones (which many people says help) hasn't changed it). My mother was the same but now she's gone through the menopause, her scalp (and vag) are dry and I envy her, ha.

I've watched this so many times, finally took notes: • Apply oil to scalp right before washing hair to remove buildup oils and grease from head. • Blowdry weekly, keep hair in a bun while sleeping for natural heat • Use hair powder to fill up gaps in hairline which will distract from the golden triangle • If you have different textures in your hair, take really small sections when styling it with a heating tool, also for fly aways. • Use masks. If you dont want to wait for 15 minutes in the shower, apply it on dry hair, then take a shirt, get it wet, put in the microwave and tie around your hair. Keep it on and then wash your hair. • Use exfoliating shampoo on the scalp once every six weeks to promote hair growth • Use a silicone shampoo brush • Put your hands in claws and almost scratch your scalp for volume • If you really want volume use volume powder • When choosing your ponytail height, follow the line from your cheekbones. • Use rat tail comb to make your hair part in one straight line • When doing the blowouts, use hair elixir to rehydrate your hair. Sprays will evenly distribute.

My mum used almond oil, and yeah, she'd massage hair and leave it overnight or a couple hours depending on how much time I had but I didn't do it that often and I don't think its an "ancient Indian" practice.😅 That makes it sound exotic. Its just a cultural way we treat our hair I guess.

It’s ok! If you wash everyday, just make sure you moisturize your hair with a good conditioner. I never rinse out the conditioner completely. I leave a little in my hair, but no too much. Then, I moisturize my wavy hair with coconut oil after my shower as I let it air dry. Since you have finer hair, I would recommend a coconut water spray. Others who have curly hair might want to try coconut cream. If you don’t like coconut, there are moisturizes available in different thickness consistency.

Do you wash your hair every day? Hair gets greasy to compensate for the constant oil stripping. Try slowly separating wash days until it's 7 days and try using dry shampoo to help with the greasyness. I wash my hair around once a week save for when I swim or exersice.

@@vee025 I know what you mean! People on youtube videos keeps saying that greasy hair is because you wash your hair too much but I think greasy hair greatly depends on hormones. When I take birth control pills my hair is less greasy that when I don't, I have a sister that also with age developed greasy hair and she doesn't wash it everyday When I was pregnant my hair stopped being greasy, until I had my baby u_u So from my experience, greasy hair is hormonal

Partially agreeing. But i think it is a little dramatic to say those tips would "change ones life". And maybe she should question herself why her hair is such a big part of her identity. I mean, it's fine. I do understand why, because my mom for example lost her hair due to cancer and it was hard for her because her dark eyebrows were part of her identity. But still. I think Alexandra tends to be a bit dramatic about something that is simply just hair or make up.

People with greasy hair usually can't pull off going a day without washing it, you are so blessed with your hair! I just heard you say that towards the end you get your curl start coming back, and the grease, and you said that it looks beautiful because it's full and shiny.. not greasy. I love how you look at it that's very healthy, and yes with your curls you will have no problem with fullness ever! I don't know how you managed to stretch out the time that your hair gets greasy but they say that it neutralizes if you leave it alone for a while. So that probably happened when you stopped washing it a lot. I tell people if they want their color to stay in and be bright, not to wash it that often.

@@gita509 Ohh! Keep at it! Well, I am confident but not cuz of my hair 😅; they're coarse and dense and definitely have a mind of their own! So I prefer tying them up in a bun or a pony or just braid them!

This video is amazing, and provides the most informative hair, scalp and personal visual care I have ever watched! I have done many of these techniques and treatments throughout my life, and so many of them were “hit and miss,” but I never understood why. This has honestly helped me understand why some things I’ve done should’ve been worked, but not. It’s like a crash course in hair and scalp education that I’ve never seen done so well. Thank you very very much!(BTW, a new subscriber here.). ❤
