I honestly think when you start out emo or scene, when you grow up your style will become less "cringy", but you'll stay alternative for a very long time! I can tell, I started out wanting to be scene at 12 and now I'm 17 and still very alternative, though I dropped the hair teasing and the extreme eyeliner, and I listen to better music.
