Before hairstyling, I was formally trained in the 70's and 80's as a barber, by a barber-turned-teacher, who is so much like Mr. Hair Buddah here, it's hilarious. The high school I went to, offered barbering as a course, so I was like sign me up after I tried tailoring and found it wasn't my cup of tea. Hair seemed to be though. Only my teacher was from Hungary and was a good 20 years older than this good man, but he spoke like him and has some mannerisms that are so uncanny it makes me laugh. I know I've seen many over the years, who tried to do their hair at home and ended up in my chair, tears and all.

I'm not a hairdresser but have been doing my own hair for years. Obviously I'm not doing anything too technical at home by myself but I'm pretty decent at it by now. In this situation would you go through with a reddish brown and do a long shadow root to try evening the color out?
@SB8-8 Жыл бұрын
@@Lizzypoohxo Quite honestly, part of being a hairdresser is knowing and understanding the person whos hair your working on. It's not just about the hair or knowing how to mix products and actually understanding the chemicals and what they do. That would be why we go to school as long as we do and do continuing education throughout our careers. I personally would probably not even do this particular persons hair. I need to physically see and feel that hair before I would ever put anything on it or offer advice of what you should use. Hypothetically, I would mix a color to match it to the darker hair. What color I mix would wholly depend on the condition of her hair currently.

She's massaging it in like a very bad home coloring job... AND THEN the SPOONING!??! AYE YI YI! These people wear me out. Your patience with the video (with appropriate concern and alarm) is amazing. I have only ever colored my hair (not bleached). But from 2003 to 2018, I had my phenomenal stylist play with color in my hair. A couple of times after I moved away from easy access to her, I did just color my hair again a couple of times prior to COVID. Since then, I've let my hair go natural, it's all pewter, some white & silver now. I think there's some natural brown in the very back. But if I was going to do something drastic, off to the salon I would go. I do not have a yt channel and I don't need views...and I wouldn't harm myself in order to get them.
@JSkyGemini Жыл бұрын
Yeah, you shouldn't use metal with bleach, like no metal bowls and certainly no metal spoons. But the rubbing it in like shampoo, is very bad for your scalp, I'm surprised it wasn't burning more. I could almost feel it on my own scalp, cringing while watching her do it. I kinda thought I'd go at least grey as I got older, or like you describe yours, but nope, my stupid hair is turning some icky dark non-descriptive lack of colour really. I've been blonde most of my life, white when I was a kid. I don't know what's up but it has to go. Some people get lucky and have the most gorgeous shades of silver, grrrr!

I've done a lot of (good!) bleaching to my own hair back when I was 15-22 years old. I was just never able to do my own roots. Having them properly done used to cost me 100€ each time. For a while my uncles girlfriend did my roots but they got married and divorced ever since 😅 so she's not an option. And I really don't trust many people getting my dark brown curly hair almost white. So every once in a while I think I want to go blonde again but your videos just always also remind me of how annoying it is (and how expensive!!) to keep up with the roots.

@psychedelic.dreamer Жыл бұрын
Do you wash your hair often? That might be the reason it doesn't last long. I wash mine 1x a week maximum and when I was red, the color seemed to last a lifetime lol Edited to add that heat tools could be the culprit as well since they fade color quickly 😊
@cerscil Жыл бұрын
@@psychedelic.dreamer I only wash my hair once a week , unless I did a crazy workout , beach, yard work etc. Then twice. Ii only use hot tools when i wash my hair , so 1-2 time a week. The big problem is the baby hairs and cowlick(?). I wash my face twice a day and the fine hairs seem to have the color washed off as well. And with the molecular structure of red , there is always some bleeding.
