I watched the original video of the guy with the toner and after everyone in the comments told him it wasn't bleach, he just kept saying it wasn't clear enough cuz it said "bleach" on the box. In the brand name. At that point you just have to laugh at yourself, my guy, not get mad at the company!😂

I can actually see that can be misleading. The brand name is quite big letters. Especially if someone's not very familiar/experienced with bleaching/dying products/brands. I can't tell how many times I've accidentally bought some wrong product, grocery shopping or beauty supply, because something on the packaging was misleading (not necessarily on purpose). Haven't you ever? (granted, I would've realized my mistake soon enough, but people are varied, I can see how that mistake can easily happen. 🤷‍♀️)

What ive learned from watching all the fails is that people will go 356 times to Sally's, spend hundreds of $$ on whatever they believe works, engage in hours and hours of driving themselves crazy, but not go to a real hairdresser

In advertising there is the "green clothing" and "green wig" we have all seen the weatherman float bc he had a green suit scheme....they project a type of fabric or a color onto the green. 1 picture of 1 green shirt and then editing can be done to show every pattern for sale!

I’m not a cosmetologist but I have four boys and my husband. Over the years I have learned so much about cutting and clipping their hair. I have curly, fine but think, so many different types. Everyone tells me I do better than any place we’ve ever taken them. I started because two of my sons are autistic. I also have always done my daughters hair and different styles. I’m a perfectionist which they hate and yes makes it hell on me. In the end I enjoy doing their hair. Makes me happy. ❤😊

Hair Buddha, I am a hairstylist, I had a good laugh at all of them but the aluminum foil on top of the color had me in stitches!! People really don't understand color at all or about hair in general they think it's so easy doing hair. I have seen so many color, haircut, chemical services and even hair extensions fails from videos, clients and even fellow hairstylists. Most hairstylists are trained and keep updating our skills. Brad Mondo says the same about using coconut oil, don't do it. Excepttttt, Brad says it isn't doing anything for your hair because the bleach eats right through it.? I wonder which one is actually true lol, I guess I don't really need to know though, they both agree on not using coconut oil period, while bleaching, so good enough for me! 🤭😂🤣😂

Always, if you color or bleach your hair, you want to apply to naked hair. It's like you wouldn't put fake tan on top of moisturizer unless you want to get a paler tan.

That and it sounds like English might not be his first/main language so he maybe didn’t understand “toner” even though it was in huge font 🤷‍♀️. Sometimes those instructions in the box are in diagrams with timers more than text so it’s completely possible he didn’t understand what it would do even seeing the instructions. His hair looked nice after at least.

Since L'Oreal/Feria single-process kits use 39 vol developer (and ammonia!), my guess is their bleach lit uses 30 or 40 vol to "lift up to 8 levels." When will people learn you can't lift your color tat many levels in one bleaching and still have hair left!

Yes always use a guard on your clippers! Sometimes even the biggest one that came with our clippers seems to be too short (although that might be just doing it on myself and not being able to hit just the right angle)

I understand what you mean but your hair can be the color on the box if your hair is natural and you have realistic expectations. I go from dark brown to dark blonde in one box. I get compliments often. BTW, this video was very funny! I think he may have scratched his head with the applicator.

Yes off course. I never say that box dye is a bag thing but if you change your color every month then you have a problem

if your natural color isn't more than two levels up or down from the box dye, then the results will be close to the box front. Otherwise, since your underlying hair isn't the right starting color, your results can be pretty amazing, sometimes even in a good way.
