I let mine go and then started growing it out. A crazy hairdresser (who had cut it many times before), decided to take 7-8 inches off, instead of 2-3, so I'm in year 2 of growing that back. My hair only grows 4-5 inches a year. But it's about 4 inches above my waist at this point and I love it! I got a Korean keratin straightening treatment to take my age related frizz and it yellowed my otherwise white hair. Now people assume I'm younger and blond.

The video of the girl on the airplane that was putting gum and sticky candy in the other girl’s hair has context. The blonde girl in front flipped her hair over blocking the other passenger’s view of their tv screen. The girl behind the blonde flipped the blondes hair back over her seat. They kept going back and forth until the passenger behind the blonde opted for petty revenge. Honestly, I would’ve hit the call button to get assistance from a flight attendant.

Yes Hair Buddha, it can be by a hair dresser, the quality in the US is going down, I recently moved States and can't find a salon that's worth it. One chopped my fine hair to 'add volume' which I asked but to do because it's so fine it doesn't work. The 'Layers' weren't connected. Then after it was dry, she went back to 'texture' it, and as I was refusing, she took the scissors and did deep vertical cuts (some were one inch deep) all around, so I can't even it out. The next salon (both highly rated) charged me $85 for a deep conditioning 'treatment' which turned out to be just regular conditioner. So, I will be doing my own hair from now on.

I had a salon give me a bad permanent. She put it in my hair dry. Instantly started to burn my scalp. And ended up burning my hair off. Then a few years later went to another salon and she was supposed to layer my hair but she just trimmed the ends. Five minute haircut. Charged me full price. Never been to a salon since.
@justmeVann7 ай бұрын
I stopped going to salons the year before covid. Even back then the quality in all salons in the US were taking a nose dive. They don't do things properly in US and never have. No apprenticeship before moving up, no color specialists... they do everything and the stylists don't have a specific specialty in an area like in overseas where I grew up.

8:57 - this is almost the same way I ended up with trichotillomania when I was 14. During a particularly anxious and depressed moment, I felt on my head and felt all this little hairs that you see in that woman's part (they weren't gray, but they were the same types of little growing hairs), and my anxiety-filled brain wouldn't stand for these short hairs. And I plucked them out. And then haven't stopped (it's been almost 30 years). The top of my head now has almost no hair, I keep my head shaved and with a headcover. And it all started by pulling those little hairs. Let your hair grow.

I'm in the process of growing my grey out. 😢 it's tough and it looks awful. I get the end trimmed every 3 months or so to slowly get the color out without going radical on my hair by shaving it all off or going back 😮to coloring it. Growing it out is tough but the end results will be worth it. My hair is curly and going natural is best for my hair ❤

I have long curly hair. Went gray. I had my stylist do highlights to blend it so the grow out didn’t look so edgy. If it is done well (small sections! 😂) people just think your changing your hair color and the grow out isn’t so traumatic.

Embrace your silver/grey/white! Every one of those have been earned in some way or other through life experience. And if you went silver/grey/white early, like in your 20"s , Wear it proudly! To me, and many others, there's nothing more stunning than these colors on a young face. I spent a long time in my 30s and 40s to get my hair that color and it's really, really hard, especially when your already blonde hair won't lift past Havana Banana. Once, I got styrofoam white, and we played for as long as it took to grow it out because that required 40 volume 30 minutes under a dryer (yes, my stylist was checking my hair every 30 seconds) ... and it STILL had to be toned. I played with color on my hair, everything from grape jelly to pastels to my favorite ever, blue-black with green, teal, and blue highlights, sparsely placed towards the front with a pixie cut. Best ever. Then my hair turned white on it's own, so I could stop coloring it. Now I spend money on purple shampoo because I'm on well water in a place that is mostly red clay. I earned EVERY ONE of these white hairs and I will wear them (and highlight them) proudly because I earned them.

I had a really sweet young coworker who had very thin shoulder length hair and she would pay a fortune to get extensions put in to make her hair longer.
