When my hair was at it's healthiest I did curlers. Then when dryed sat under cool hair dryer. Took off rollers and wrapped around head then put on silky scarf. Hair had bounce and looked healthy not weight down or crazy. Wish I never got addicted to flat iron.

I have very thin hair like hers, idk if before the roller set her hair was really curly but I have naturally wavy hair so theres no hiding how thin my hair is lol. I dont trust going to salons to do my hair because they put so much things before roller set and after that I feel like it makes my hair look more thin that it already is and greasy; so my hair will last like 3 days before It looks like I gotta wash it again. I usually will just get a haircut from my close friend and blow dry it myself. Is there any treatment that you know of that will make my hair grow thick and full?

Try black castor oil or either wild growth oil, I have fine hair also, and a lot of my hair has fallen out due to my medication but I use these products it seems to work but you have to be very consistent.

My hair will not hold a curl because of the humidity in Alabama. What do you put on her hair to keep it from waving or curling back up? I can't apply all of that product because my hair is fine.

Sonia, i live in Tuscaloosa. I also have fine hair. My beautician uses a mixture of setting lotion and mousse to give my roller set hold without weight. She also pulls my curls out by hand then follows up with spritz and shine. This style can last me approx 1 1/2 weeks

My thoughts exactly. I have fine hair and my stylist does one or the other but never both. That’s way too much heat for fine hair. The purpose of a roller set is to make fine hair look fuller with more volume. A roller set is also healthier for your strands. She should have just run her fingers through her hair after removing the rollers. It would have looked even fuller, and the curls will last longer from a roller set as opposed to a flat iron.

What’s the point in doing a roller set when you’re going to just flat iron/silk press it anyway? Just a little word of advice…I’m a fine haired natural and that’s way too much heat, especially for fine hair strands. My stylists always does one or the other, but never both. The purpose of a roller set is to create more fullness and body. It’s also healthier for your hair, and would have better blended the parts and spacey areas of her scalp. Going in with a flat iron afterwards is counterproductive and flattens the curl/volume achieved from the roller set while adding unnecessary heat. The curls will not last as long as they would if you just roller set it alone, and the overall volume has been diminished by running the flat iron down the strands.
