You guys have had some of the best, most lenient Goodwill pricings for the bins i've ever seen and they still are compared to what we deal with where we are, so I would just be happy with the situation you have and the fact your not dealing with hoards of people snatching everything out from in front of you because the people to bin ratio is ridiculous even at 8am. Your dealing with a casual, amazing, very reasonably priced bin experience compared to some of us, LIVE IT UP!

Talk to the manager. I found a full tool box with vintage craftsman tools. Here in the northeast we always had weighed pricing in all categories. I told the manager this would cost like 100 dollars. He gave me a flat rate of 10 bucks. Since then I approach them with various items and try to work something out.

Goodwill here stopped senior discount, military discount, no bathrooms, no fitting rooms, no color tags on shoes and purses, no coupons, no furniture...when you donate they look at everything and won't take curtain rods unless they're in original packaging, same for candles and other items. Bins are 2.19 a pound, 2.99 a lb for clothes, 1.09 a book. I quit shopping and donating a long time ago.

I've been shopping at Goodwill since the 80's and shopping there hard core since ebay came out and have never seen a disabled person working at Goodwill. In the 80's they had cartoon illustration of a kid in a wheelchair on their price tags. They used to advertise on TV that they employed disabled people. Not that long ago they had giant posters on the walls showing special needs and handicapped people they employ. I have never seen one in real life. Goodwill is a racket.

So from what i've been told by a few employess i know that work in my area Goodwill's, the managers from each section of our state all have to go to meetings every so often in these meetings everything is discussed, pricing, sales, setups, etc so what's probably happened is if that's the only bins that charges $1 per bag of plush that's probably why they did away with it. We've lost a few great marketing ideas in my area because another store's manager complained about it in one of those meetings. There's a Goodwill in my area that prices differently than the other stores but most customers have learned not to speak of it now because word would just get back to another store that prices higher for the same stuff and then they'd be forced to conform to the higher price. Most every bins I've been to in other states charges everything but electronics and furniture by the pound so doesn't surprise me that eventually happened at yours.

I shop at a Goodwill Outlet in North Carolina (one of them) and everything is $1.89 per pound including books, etc. The only exception is furniture or electronic items. I don't buy any books because it is too expensive to pay per pound and also avoid heavy items. There are no sales or exceptions for heavy items. Same at a South Carolina one that I went to recently in Greenville and probably won't go back. A fire safe without keys was there but didn't buy it because it would have probably cost more used than new in the store. I even asked the cashier if there were exceptions for super heavy items like that and she told me, no. Wish they gave some thought to these situations because it will all be in the land fill but may have otherwise been purchased. By the way, your Goodwill Outlet seems to be much nicer than ours.

I feel you. Thrift stores in Springfield for the most part are retail priced. Red Racks is no different. Now Goodwill sells most of the valuables online and they make a LOT of money on their e-commerce store. Thrift stores were supposed to be low prices for people who could not afford much. It was supposed to be beneficial for the community, veterans, even helping the homeless with free items in the winter. It's not been that in a very long time. It's sad. I see all these reselling videos where people find banging bargins at $4 and reselling for hundreds or more? Not here lol. They'd sell a chipped cup for $14.99 🤣 and not blink an eye.

My outlet raised their prices five times in 8 years, and guess what? The store continued to get busier every year because they get free advertising on social media. Now they are expanding the store. Yes, a lot of plush will get thrown out at this location, but a dollar a bag does nothing for their bottom line. If they are getting busier, they should raise prices. This is basic economics.

I could get books 10/$1 and they would run sales for 20/$1. I have a daughter who loves to read and I would fill a box of books for her at Christmas and birthday. I've found a couple that ended up being signed by the author. Not valuable but certainly cool.

Our Goodwill has always priced everything by the pound. Books were a little cheaper but still weighed up.

It was only a matter of time before they jacked up prices at the Bins too. They've already ruined the reguar stores here by overpricing everything and taking out anything acually worth purchasing. The only things they sell that a reseller would want are too heavy and fragile to even think about buying; shipping costs would eat all of the profits if the prices the store charged hadn't done that first. I walked in last week and walked around. Right before Christmas they should have been loaded and all that was there were leftovers and trash. I walked out.

how have you done with the Steve Madden products? my daughter bought a winter coat and a duffle bag and both didn't last. the zipper broke on the duffle, and it had hardly anything in it and the winter coat pocket ripped at the seam. I was able to sew it back but based on the price of the coat, that never should have happened. I wrote to the company and never heard back. Things just aren't made the way they used to be.

Our bins are $1.99 and books .50. Every thing else is weight. You have to watch what you pick up. 😢

Honestly, it sounds more like they're trying to take the employee discretion out of the picture. It's the same problem with all of corporate America, there are nuances in everything. And even though you guys still have good pricing and lower competition, I think you're still spot on when you say those items just aren't going to sell.

If there wasn’t any Thrift shops you would have to pay to get rid of your stuff instead of having somewhere to bring it for free so it’s a win-win.

They should be paying customers for all the ridiculous hard work digging through everything in those bins to find anything worth buying!

Wow that place is empty… and they nice stuff. the closest outlet store is like 1 hr from my apt. I haven’t been there because the location is not good (safe) …the other one is 90 min away and that one is always packed, literally you have to fight to get a spot when they put out the bins! Is crazy 😰😭😔😅

They closed our outlets in Montgomeryville, PA and just made more regular goodwill space. I stopped going prices are too high for stuff they get for free.

I thought the point of the bins was for items that aren't being sold at the ridiculous prices in store. Now they are gonna open a third liquidation center where the stuff that doesn't sell in the bins get sold there.
