Its not ahmma junib! It's “amma yujeeb-ul muz-tarra iza da'ao wa yakshey fuuss soo” أَمَّن يُجِيبُ الْمُضْطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاهُ وَيَكْشِفُ السُّوءَ "Is not He, Who responds to the distressed one, when he calls Him, and Who removes the evil" (27:62)

To a certain extent, yes. But you will always have "the self". Personal opinions differ from specific interests. Personal opinions should be aligned to Allah. Specific interests are derived from a combination of childhood, environment and the degree of faith in the environment the individual will grow up in.

Is my personality part of my "nafs" or "roo7"? For example, specific interests that differ from others, in things like books and movies, would those be part of my self? If the goal is to purify the self to allow the spirit to shed its light through, then should I let go of the concept "my self"?
