What makes Alfredo so dangerous is hes basically if you took Ricardo and mixed him with Sendo. Hes got the skill and finesse of Ricardo but once he starts losing, his bad habits come out and he turns into a beast like Sendo. It's also how he got his nickname Mextli.

alfredo was a beast in game and in the manga he fought ricardo martinez the world champ 3 TIMES! and lived with out any permenat injury thats pretty impressive thinking that date fought ricardo 2 times and got permenent damage and he was gatekeeping the number 2 in world ranking so nobody can challange ricardo (only some country champions) he was thinking like if you want to fight ricardo you have to go trough me first!. and spolier alert for manga reader! he actully beats up ippo and wins against him! but sendo takes revenge and beat him and it was a close match! after his lost to sendo he quits boxing passing down the torch to sendo to beat ricardo

Here are some tips based on this fight: - Yes, your finisher locks when you start a fight. Has to be before the fight starts. - Alfredo, Ricardo, and lots of other fast styles make it hard to land attacks. It may be worth trying to poke with the occasional jab. If it lands, so will your other attacks, especially counters. However, throwing another jab breaks combos for some reason, so try to only throw one at a time. - Lastly, you can throw finishers even when it's not fully charged. You can store up to 3 charges, and having all three lets you throw a stronger finisher. Uncharged finishers should be used to finish a stock (1/3rd HP), while charged ones to finish a fight (3/4ths HP)

Date is EXTREMELY possible. A 10 rank difference between boxer ranks is hilariously one sided. Date in Ippo's best match mode is like, 12 ranks and currently Ippo's boxer rank is 13 so the fight would be very even. I highly recommend you do do the alternate path as you can get a hell of a lot of really essential skills from it.

YOOOO! you have finished ippo's story mode! after the fight with alfredo, he canonicly sadly didnt managed to go up against someone like alfredo with his aggresive movement and mexican boxer style, being way to strong for someone like ippo....but what if you were at the levels of a japanese champion like date?...its time to now change the story and see if you can soon fight against the mexican world champion Ricardo Martinez! (also forgot to mention yes you can throw supers even if your heat meter is fully filled, they arent as strong as the full ultimate but they can do damage if you need it)
