For academic knowledge. We call this Eid as Eid UL Azha and sacrifice animals on this occasion as sunnat e Ibrahimic. Did Hazrat Ibrahim intend to sacrifice his son during Hajj. If no, then why do we observe this sunnat during Hajj time.

Sunnat just means a way of life or a way or doing things. He may have thought he was gunna sacrifice his son but his action proves he sacrificed a lamb. Thus we do this to merely remember that story.
