hakka saying “i live to spite god” and mousey going “…omg we ARE the same person” made me laugh out loud

Felt that in my soul. I'm not crippled or disabled in any way, but I will live so that I can fulfill what my little sister couldn't. I always say "if god is real, and he wants my forgiveness, he will have to beg me for it"

@@TerraTheWise That's not his point. The idea is to continue to live and fight for your ideals in order to spite god. Be it the Buddah, Jesus, Kami, or whoever else.

@@TerraTheWise I feel it more like the concept of "the problems come from things I don't control. But the only thing I can control is myself fixing my problems". But the important thing is if they find streght in thinking that god wants them to be in a bad situation and it's only on them or them and their family to be good. It's also good because they find streght in that. Sorry if I explained the idea poorly, not my first language

Very relatable. I believe this is common among many other Latino families. I am very fortunate that I lived a fairly good life thus far. Never living in poverty and having two really nice and hardworking parents to raise me and my siblings. Even then, we still have our struggles, and I remember vividly seeing my Mom and Dad work hard for us. Both working in their own jobs, but doing everything they can to be present in our lives. I am not at the point where I can fully take care of them by myself, but it's definitely something I strive for. To ensure if they need someone to lean on, I can be there. I still have ways to go, but I'm proud of myself to at least be able to provide some money for them, and be able to do something at least.

This is what gives me hope While my situation is different we grew up living off my mom's single paycheck And the only reason I got school lunch was because she made just under enough to qualify for free and reduced lunch because otherwise lunch is expensive to buy and I learned that early on. Im an artist that has vision issues and hearing issues and balance issues So I feel like life has a weird way of humbling the few things you love doing.. That and we started going to the bread lines where they hand out food to unfortunate folk My family says once I make it as an artist they are dreaming of the day I can support them At first it scared me but now I kind of hope I can support my mom that's like one of my secret life time goals, at least some major bills or our debt you know.

How the duck?? Children bullying others for not bringing lunch money?? Man everyone in my school (i'm not from the states btw) brought lunch from home and anyone who didn't probably had their parents forget to give them lunch for the day. Crazy how different things can be between countries and I'm grateful to have been brought up where I was. Also these two are so inspiring, I feel like I ought to work even harder for my parents who put so much time and effort into me. Gotta repay them back in the near future.

Even tho I'm latin american, living in an latin american country... I just can't relate to Ironmouse or Hakka. Yeah sure, there was a part of my life when we were poor. A family of 4, 3 kids and one single mother and she did everything for us, she worked her ass off for us and to make us live a "normal life". I guess that's the only part I kinda relate, but they're making us look like latin american countries are the worst and you will have to survive everyday, because every is just so hard and nothing is good, there is no comparation from us to the US or any other big countries and... And I gotta say, that pisses me off, because it's just not true. I went to the US last year, to New York... And you know what? Even tho they have more stuff in stores and exclusive things, the city is almost the same as our capital. New York is grosser tho... Gosh, it's really really dirty.
