I really cried because of this anime. 😭😭😭😭😭But after knowing the truth that this was made based on the real shinsengumi story I was shocked. Because my favourite character Okito died because of tuberculosis in real world too. 🥺🥺🥺

@@mashasiro2842 it was made to look like that in the anime, but it was never stated that he died there. Again, looking at it historically, Saito was thought to be dead in that battle but he actually managed to survive and regroup with the remaining of the Aizu army, where he continued to serve under a different name, which eventually led to him being captured and held as a prisoner of war. Saito actually died as an old man, in his 70s

Face the facts that they choose the most boring path to be canon, because he had to die. Rivalry that he didn't give up, and the people who made the anime wanted the "perfect" japanese man to win. Obviously, I think that Oni should be with fellow Oni, and not human beings, but you know.... The idea of Humans being with Demons is a huge Otome thing right now, lol. I mean, you know that your species is dying out and only 20% of them are female, yet, you fall for a human.... *sigh*. On top of that, he actually does share a lot of traits in common with Chikage Kazama, so it isn't like Chizuru couldn't love Kazama, she actually fell in love with the Fukuchou, "Demon of the Fleeting Blossoms", who has a potty mouth, and hates showing emotions. So in otherwords, weren't the two of them the same anyway??? This is almost like if Chikage was her Twin Flame, but she chose her Karmic Soul Mate instead, because Hijikata made her feel safer and he has emotional break downs, which, some people would term emotional abuse and stockholm syndrome instead of love. He doesn't show off his Haikus and Poetry to Chizuru, he doesn't make her feel loved and desired, he just seems to use her and not have any emotions the entire show, and not in the cute way of Saito Hajime either! For goodness sakes... The two are so similar, she might as well have chosen Chikage.... That is probably why he actually couldn't stop going after him, they probably have this repel effect of being the same going on like two poles of a magnet. Mirror Reflecting each other? Chikage blamed him for not letting go and embracing the future of weaponry, the changing times, yet, Chikage himself was a fellow Samurai, and he didn't embrace guns either. He also had his Village move, so that they could be hidden, and remain living in the past traditions. It didn't make any sense, except, for the fact that Chikage would never have let Hijikata go ever, eternal rivalry, and he never would have allowed Chizuru to stay with him, because he was obsessed/fixated over her. He deemed it his duty and responsibility to bring her back to Oni-kind, and he wouldn't have just ignored her relationship with him.... However, the movie is better ! ~ Watch the two movies ! ~
