heres the thing, vein isnt overlooked anymore since the last LAN (and arguably never has been) the thing is a solo queue league almost favours IGL's, regardless of their input choice between mnk and controller, this is because they have the ability to lead a arguably less mechanical team to higher placements and get them in the positions to get kills

Snipe and Hal both make good points. I do feel that the beacon change was an overall good change. The nerfing/ change spawn rate of the loot this season was a mistake I feel. Time will tell

No way, the beacon change and loot change as made the game way more boring to watch. The amount of contests has gone way down because theres almost zero point to contest now. One of the most exciting parts of watching was for contests. Its dumb, if you want good POIs fight for them. The only people happy with it are shit fighting teams.

Nah, Hal is right about the beacon change. The teams that are stronger at contesting off spawn could dibs and push weaker teams out of better POIs, but now a big part of the value of doing this is gone and instead gifting worst teams better chances at beacons they couldn't fight for.

I personally think there should be pois with good loot, or good beacon and maproom scan percentage, and for like 2 pois both of those combined, random is boring, but i also think that there being over 2 good pois just makes it obvious who is most likely to not win Better teams should be better on equal footings, not because they got the best poi because they have 2 17 year old kids on 0.4

beacon change is the same thing that was master badge last season, good and bad players gets the masters badge and same for comp, good and bad teams getting same chance of getting beacon, leaving teams that were fighting hard for the POI (some even on both maps) sour taste in the mouths

Everyone is missing the main point though. It's the timing of the changes. They've practiced the entire season and a change like this right before champs is stupid. This is a common complaint amongst basically all esports.

Every FPS dies when the devs start making changes to help the mid/low tier players. Happened with Cod, Halo, R6, PubG, H1Z1. Players have to just get better. Which with a game like apex, is the whole point. It is a straight up Comp BR. Lowering the skill gap through game changes is a bad thing. Evidence is clear as day

The best player will more than likely get that thing because the are able to kill everyone else that goes for it and not die. If someone risks dying and having to kill everyone just to get that advantage and succeeds, it should go to them. Not be given to someone random because everyone should be ‘equal’

If player A is given the exact same loot and info such as beacon or enemy scan as player B , the better player will come out on top no? You can give me gold guns and all the beacon scans in the world off drop , give a regular gun with 1 attachment to a pro, 100% of the time unless the pro (better player) is drunk or something, ima get clapped. Also, everyone can see where the beacons are in the drop ship, you can go land where they are and contest, if you are truly the better player you should come out on top. I understand players don't to this because they practice landing in the same spot always but that's just a play style that can be changed. They are more than free to see in the drop shop where the spicy beacons are and jump accordingly. Pro players can easily adjust by practicing 1 or two drops on each map, if you see one of your drops don't have the beacon, go to the other, if it's a contest oh well, the better player will come out on top.

Due to the equal chances of every poi getting beacon and loot even if you were to practice fighting on two different poi’s you still wouldn’t have that much higher a percentage of getting either one. Most teams that don’t get contested are the considered the best team for that specific poi. If tsm were to go anywhere else then they would probably lose to that other team because that team practiced fighting at that poi. Making that team the better team for that specific poi. If only a few poi’s had a high percentage beacon spawn then every team could practice fighting one poi out of those few. But you can’t practice fighting of spawn at every single poi on the map. It’s just not efficient due to the little things pro players do when fighting off spawn at their poi. You may be able to learn the general routes you should take to loot when contested but you can’t memorize every little thing that can help you win a fight when you’re contested.

Here's what I think... I've always agreed that Hal was an entitled person because of the fact that everything that apex is has to go with his standards. I remember the game before major buffs, nerfs and reworks were such a constant thing but because of his ongoing complaints the meta has shifted in a majorly negative way. I just also find it odd how he complains about all the "overpowered" Legends and tries to get them nerfed so bad but then complains even more when they do get changes and those "changes" still somehow affect in negatively in the long run. I remember seeing him a tournament and yelling at his teammates because he couldn't get over a mountain or whatever using Valk's ultimate, but what came to mind is when he endlessly complained about how overpowered she was at the time of her release which inevitably got her nerfed. Same situation with Seer. I've never seen anyone complain about Seer more than Hal since his release. Seer has been out for a shorter amount of time than every Legend before him (obviously) and has probably received the MOST nerfs out of all the other Legends and even then Hal still has the audacity to complain about him simply because HE specifically doesn't know how to counter him, but if you lack the knowledge or skill to do that, it kinda seems like a HIM problem and NOT an entire game community problem. But I mean of course it feels like a spit in the face to him. Being a Pro doesn't mean that you own the game and get to dictate everything that goes on within the game. Being a Pro just means your good at the game and were just one of those lucky few that made it big based of your skill. But as a Pro that also means you should be able to learn and adapt to how the games LEGITIMATE "developers" change and shift the game. Because explain why everything has to work in HIS favor in order for him to win? Doesn't seem fair. "Pro" is literally short for "Professional" and he's acting more like a child than anything. But to sit there and react to trailers, patch notes, and complain because something didn't go your way is very entitled of him.

Goodness your daughter’s so big already 😭, on Hal’s note i believe he’s right in wanting some Poi’s to have higher percentages for beacons and such, he is after all risking a team contesting them and taking them out but he’s confident in himself and his team like any leader should be plus early contests would only spice up this big tournaments, it is “fair” for everyone to the same chance but I believe they should fight for it like TSM is willing to do on a system that favors beacons in some poi’s same way teams fight for some poi’s for guaranteed loot

How can Hal say that Faze cant fight off spawn after what happen before split 2 started??? TSM literally went to Launch Pad to contest Faze in the customs and lost 8-2 or what ever it was. This Beacon change is great, dont think the timing is the best, i think Respawn should change when the new seasons come out so teams have more time to practice the new patch but still a good change regardless. A system where established teams get to choose the best POI's because contender teams rather not contest shouldnt be a thing, if your team is the best then you will find a way to win no matter the POI (granted the POI's are balanced)

I understand Snipes POV but Hal is, in my opinion, on the right here. Every POI has their good and bad. Some are better than the others. Which also means that it doesnt really make sense that a worse POI should come to a common ground as a good POI. Theres a goddamn reason why, for example DZ and TSM, have their current POIs. That's because they fought to keep it as their POI to make sure to have beacon and loot advantage over the other teams. Now, if people would like to have same advantage, they should go a head and contest a team thats already having a good POI. Now, almost all the reason for contest is bit more meaningless since most of the POIs are on even ground, which makes good contest appear way less.

Thing is, Lava Siphon is one of the best POIs in the entire game, especially when it comes to loot. Why should that be combined with a near-guarantee for a ring console? I think Xera is on the right track saying the spawn rates shouldn't be exactly equal, but this is better than before. When it comes to watching ALGS, TSM are usually my 3rd or 4th favorite team to root for, but Hal is entitled as shit and in regards to this issue specifically, he's being a crybaby.

imo if you want a better poi because of beacon and better loot then you should fight for it. Of course everyone wants beacon and better loot but only the best team should be able to get it. But no one is able to do it and the few teams that might be able to have their own poi that they think is better. Now that everyone has equal chances at loot and beacon, the only reason to contest someone is because of the poi’s position on the map. Which doesn’t matter to much because zone pull randomly and the poi may have beacon to let them know if they need to rotate early or not.
