he is not the greatest, but he is definitly one of the best. Besides his vocal range, he mastered to sing in different ways. He had the powerful and aggresiv "welcome to the jungle" and beautiful songs like "November Rain". Of cause the current Axl isnt that good, but in his prime he was one of the best!

+jackbxt I agree with you about all the bands sounding the same. And bad. I think that's what I said. Axl wasn't/isn't any sort of great talent. He has a decent voice, but there are tons of guys out out there who sound just like him. Slash is a damn good guitarist but not a rock god along the lines of Clapton, Nugent, Santana and their ilk. He's a little sloppy and doesn't hit his notes as decisively as he should to get that status. They just came around when there was a serious lack of rock and roll. I do think they brought the kick ass hard rock style back and I give them credit for it but they really weren't as good as the dj's told you they were. They were just the only ones still playing it. Maybe you aren't old enough to remember the heyday rock had in the 70's, I am. Even the oldies stations don't do justice to what was available to us. All they play is the same old songs that managed to hit the top ten, and they play them to oblivion. Just like today, the best tracks rarely made the radio.

I went to the Canberra concert and it was probably the best concert I've ever been to. I got to meet the band and get a photo with them as well as I got a signed picture from them. I was up the front so I managed to catch one of Lzzy's guitar picks and to top it off Arejay threw his waterbottle at me (not maliciously of course). They are actually so amazing live XD
