I love The Remnant Chronicles. My first video I watched of yours was you reading the Dance of Thieves Duology. I was in the comments like girl you need to read the original trilogy. Things will make so much more sense. Also, the prequel Morrighan is so good. A printed version just came out and it is stunning. The art and maps are beautifully done. The world that Mary E. Pearson has created is absolutely incredible! Also, I don’t know if you like audiobooks, but the audiobooks for this series is perfection. It’s full cast and each of the narrators of these books have become some of my absolutely favorite narrators.

The character relationships and dynamics you saw in the duology will be so much more powerful once you read the trilogy. Talking about these two series is making me want to reread it again asap. The reveal in kiss of deception was a huge moment for me! But my friend somehow knew it from the beginning 😅 so I think it definitely depends on your reading style. The next 2 books are definitely more fast paced and will make you appreciate Dance of Thieves even more!

if i had your face is actually so good!! maybe its because im generally used to the detachment in asian authors' writing so i cant tell the difference but as a fantasy girlie i can understand why you might find it off putting. i feel like it isnt supposed to be this big commentary that everyone makes it out to be but more like just a documentation of what life in korea as a lower class girl is like. its not making heroic changes or moving the world because most peoples lives does go without moving the world. idk but you might like it and you already have the book so i would def recommend finishing it!

If you liked the Stephen King book you should read the Institute by Stephen King!! It’s so good, such a good mystery/plot. It’s still a thriller but the main characters are kids with special telepathic powers, so it makes it slightly less intense and has some more fun elements.
