Nice work! It's awesome to see others take advantage of the VHF contests to try different bands and earn POTA awards. I got my N1CC last year and should get my POTA 6-pack done by or during the June contest.

Thank you Mike, and completely agree about taking advantage of VHF and other contests to earn POTA awards! (-: Awesome you got the N1CC last year! I only have a few bands at 2 more parks to finish N1CC, and need to finish the 6-pack during June as well! Thanks for comments and saying a quick "hi"! Hope you enjoy the rest of this weekend!

N1CC award : how many contacts u have to make on each band? All 10 bands have to be on a single day or can I try a different band on a different day from the same park and will get counted towards the award?

Thanks for watching and reaching out with question! For N1CC, you only need to make 1 contact on each of the 10 bands for that park and the contacts can be on different days or activations. For nearly all my parks, I got the 10 bands over 2 or 3 activations... (I do still have 2 parks that I can activate together and need to get the last few bands to complete the award...) 73, James

James, great video. Silly question, but all of your vhf/uhf videos it seems you have the squelch completely open (lots of static). Should I do this all the time to ensure all contacts?

Thank you for comment, and great question! Most of the time driving around or at home I'll leave squelch up. From doing SOTA, one early learning was to turn off squelch to ensure I can hear faint stations calling. I definitely would have missed many stations calling, including my longest VHF contacts if I hadn't turned off squelch...including a few over 200 miles. Hope this helps, and thanks for taking time to ask! 73, James
