I still remember running Half-Life 2 on my first PC when I was a child: a 478 Socket Pentium 4, FX5200, and DDR1-400. Your specs bring back so much nostalgia. I couldn’t even get 60 FPS, but I was still deeply impressed by the Source Engine back then.

the first time I played HL2 was on an HP Pavilion on Windows XP with an FX 5200. The game somehow ran on medium quality settings. Episode One and Two's shader effects with the purple vortigaunts brought my fps to a crawl but the games otherwise ran fine for the most part.

I love how this game runs on DX 8.1 mode if you play the game with a GeForce FX card because how bad DX9 performance is in these cards

I replayed it this year, with new enhanced version and in 2K resolution. Still looking great.
