She has the most endearing voice, she really made Alyx so likeable and relatable along with the great writing from Valve and of course Jamil Mullen's animation work and likeness. I'm replaying Half-life 2 and each time i do i just love the character more and more.

10-04-09 I just played the end of HALF LIFE Episode 2 with Merle Dandridge. Wow! I was moved!!! I would pay $200 for Episode 3. Valve hurry up! Alyx Vance was well written and all the other good actors did very well but Merle had me to the end Thank you Merle, and see you soon, and what a sweet personality. It felt real. Loved it! Valve: The story cant just end there. It is an open book. I know a little about how long it takes writers. Miss Dandridge thank you for making it feel real.

Ok i see. I know about the improvement and i heard somewhere it was going to be HL3. I guess its possible but really i dont know because City 17 is totally gone. That was why there were episodes, to follow the City 17 story, but now its over, and we now begin the Borealis story, but its too soon to know everything

I think that's because VALVe tries to cast actors with natural voices. They don't want them to strain themselves or end up sounding too cartoony. Most of the cast doesn't look too far off from their counterparts. Even HL2's vortiguant seems slightly modeled off Lou Gossett Junoir.

There wont be an episode 3, but a Half Life 3. They are rewiring then engine and making the graphics better, kind of like the switch from episode 1 to episode 2. It is estimated to be out next year or in 2012.

That's not true. Valve confirmed there will be an episode three. None of us knows however, what exactly is changing. Improvements of graphics is I think going to happen. Or atleast a little bit. I suppose it will be either released this or next year, but if they do release it in 2012, it better be really good.

@QuadfishTym She didn't play HL2 some years ago, but maybe now she has played it or at least tried. Alyx is everywhere in episode 1 but you don't see her so much in HL2 so maybe she didn't just bother to play HL2 because of that because women doesn't usually play action games

Lousy direction/writing/voice-acting on HL2. Yet, the same team did an outrageously good job on Portal (though it was only one individual acting). Whomever directed/wrote for Portal, should really be directing/writing for any future HL episodes. Portal had such complex, varied, and interesting vocal work. Whereas HL2 is the same corny and unbelievable poop as any other game (ESPECIALLY the Vance father/daughter). Dandridge and whoever played her dad, were poorly cast. Breen was good though.
