The first time i played this segment of the game... when all the tunnels flash 3 red lights and this music comes on... man, the feels. I felt like i embodied gordon himself and i was really there. goosebumps. It's an even greater moment because griggs and sheckley make such a fuzz when only one tunnel lights red. and then... when they ALL light red at the same time, music plays, badassery!

This scene is seriously the best one in the entire series. It's just Valve being Valve and making it FUN. You fight a shit ton of antlions,and their cries of death are still heard over the badass song that is playing troughout the battle,and you can still hear and see Griggs and Sheckley casually joke around and being themselves,whil witnessing the true potential of the vortigaunts that we've never seen before.This whole level just makes you feek like a badass.This is the best moment in the whole series,and bravo to Valve.

Vorts are awesome. Even while enslaved they are still badass, then when Gordon frees them from slavery by killing the Nihilanth, not only do they forgive him for killing a bunch of them, they basically make him their messiah, return the favor by freeing him from the G-Man, go out of their way to help humanity against the Combine, and all while kicking some serious ass. It's a shame we didn't get to see them in action against the Combine in Episode 2, but I feel like that would have been amazing.

Probably one of my favorite moments in a Half Life game by far. Here you are, the legendary Gordon Freeman, stuck in an abandoned mineshaft struggling to defend your best friend/love interest alongside aliens you once slaughtered in Black Mesa, and with two forgettable goofballs passing off cheap one-liners while you watch said aliens beat the everloving hell out of some huge insect creatures you just stole from. This franchise is truly one of a kind.
