@@Bumblebee-lg9ij Well, I agree with you about Battlefield 3. Great fps game, but I haven't played it so far. That said, I can't say anything about the story. Maybe it is better than HL2, maybe not. It depends from person to person. But unreal tournament 2004 is deathmatch game. Yes, of course there is HL2:DM, but that's not it. The hearth of any game for me is story at first place, than gameplay itself at second. So I shouldn't say in general which game is better, but personally, I prefer HL2, and maybe it was better game than BF3 for its time, maybe... PS. I left you a like😁

Of course we all have different opinions about the best tracks from the HL2-games, but I still hope you can find some of your favourites here. I absolutely love the transition from Dark Interval to LG Orbifold. Just the calm almost tranquility feeling of the aftermath of a war you created. Then to slide into a bass that shakes the rubble, telling you the fight isn't over yet. *chefs kiss*

Thank you. From LG Orbifold, all the tracks continue in the same key. So I remember I wasn't sure how to make the best transition in that part of the mix. I read in a Valve interview the importance of a break after something intense, and I tried to mix the tracks together with that idea in mind.

Half Life has an amazing atmosphere. There is so much dread in the world, so many horrors that bring dispair to humanity in half Life yet it's easy to ignore those because of one overriding emotion. Hope, despite everything the world has put all thier faith into the one free man. It's something you feel while you play the games and it's executed so perfectly that despite gordon never speaking a word in the series he became on of the most iconic protagonists in gaming.

Reasons why HL3 will be made: 1. Valve doesn't rely on fear to release a game and doesn't care about how hyped the game will be and if it doesn't meet the hype expectations. 2. Valve has already written the story script for HL3. And i'm not even kidding, it was already made in late 2009, confirmed by Gaben. They tought, if the story was already finished, why not release it as a comic or book? Time will tell. 3. Valve has to find a new and revolutionary way to use a new game mechanic (ex: HL1-New way of storytelling through an action-adventure FPS game, HL2-Using the physics engine can add great depth to the game, HL3-???). Don't lose hope tough, those question marks at the HL3 part means that the new game mechanic hasn't been found yet, not that it won't be made at all. Valve has already confirmed a long time ago that VR might be a good candidate for this. Reasons why HL3 won't be made: 1. Kelly Bailey, one of the main game producers for Half-Life, has left Valve in 2011. 2. Valve employers might just simply not be interested in the project, because Valve employees don't have a specific manager and are there to make a game they wish to make. 3. The story might simply not be that good. After Eli Vance was killed in HL2:Ep2, the story just might've went downhill from there. Eli was the main resistance leader, afterall. Also, what about Mossman? She was a spy for the Combine before, why would she suddenly become your friend again? Who is to say that she isn't the one that made a deal with the advisors to kill Eli? Also, who else knows Mossman is a traitor other than Alyx and Gordon? In conclusion, if you're an optimist, it's most likely that HL3 will come in a matter of a few years, maybe Valve is waiting for the right moment, like the 20 year anniversary of Half-Life in 2018, or maybe they just haven't gotten the resources yet. Either way, it's a matter of time. If you're a pessimist, on the other hand, Valve most likely isn't interested in Half-Life and their employees have stopped working on it. We will never know.

Actually, lores kinda apart, HL2 is a satire on the USSR and communism, all the rebelling is against an oppressive state, and the whole scenario is in Eastern Europe. Hence a rebellion against the oppressive communist gov. (The combine). Look it up, pretty interesting facts about it. The lead designer for the maps actually lived in the USSR if im not mistaken.
