these remind me of something, last december some xen models and files were found in black mesa source's files during an update, they were later removed for obvious reasons, since Xen isn't done yet, but someone was able to screenshot a non-textured render of black mesa's version of the gonarch's model and a list of most if not all of its animations names at the time. there was simple stuff like "MeleeStab1" "ChargeStop" "IdleSearch" and "Run" but there was a few amazing names like "Teabag_RubBallz_OnDeath" and "SACK_WACK_ATTACK"

there is more where that came from, just look through the decompiled maps, interesting names. examples: player launch trigger for (I am assuming) blast pit was called "groundcontroltomajortom" -- squad name for rappeling soldiers that ambush you from the helicopter in WGH belonging to squad "muhahahahaha" -- Said helicopter having the name of SirOsprey, with another helicopter having the name of MsOsprey -- Harrier jump jets having the name Harriet sometimes -- visgroup for sleeping houndeyes being called "sleeping beauty's" -- and many more

I think the joke behind that sprite name is the implication that random unexpected energy spheres appearing in a lab after some equipment breaks down are probably going to emit radiation and give you cancer if you get to close, so the player character's choice to enter one isn't particularly smart. Joking about cancer is taboo for many people though, and could be viewed as insensitive towards families who have suffered through cancer, but honestly this is very mild in terms of offensiveness, nobody would get fired today for making a joke like this

I don't know, considering that Black Mesa is an underground complex, I think it would be pretty hard to destroy it with one nuke. Also, Shephard gets to a place with a bomb after he teleports to Xen a couple of times, so we can't know where it is placed.

I'm certain that the reason why the trigger at 3:54 is named like that is because Half Life 1 would directly relay the music on your CD, which would be the game's soundtrack if the game CD was loaded, however if any other CD was loaded and it had any audio files it'd play those instead. This probably meant that gearbox dev just had a CD with rock and roll classics to play instead of the boring ambient music.

Some of these names are a bit more than just for humorous intent. As someone who gives ridiculous and dumb names to things all the time, some of these definitely had some frustration behind them, being given easily recognizable names that show the frustration of someone developing to be more easily tracked and debugged.

@@slackingstacker Tell me about it, I`ve decompiled some of your maps and seen those names, you filthy mouthed naughty boi. - then again, comparing my entity names to yours is like comparing skittles to a fancy dinner. after all, I don`t think names like Lightly_Awesome_Vehicle, Ayylien_Grunt_1, or that time I named a air raid siren "WOOOOOOAAAHHHHHHHHH" can compare to the names you put in your maps (I may be wrong here, but I remember your "Ted Cruz tank" had a very obscene name, something like "fuckingbullshit", If I remember correctly)
