Pete, I want to mention something about armor. I'm sure you know this, and sorry to be pedantic, but... While a thrumbofur duster, flak vest, and shirt are certainly better than Steak's normal-quality marine armor, because of how armor penetration and layers work you'll still want to get at least a masterwork flak vest or preferably legendary recon/masterwork marine armor for true protection against hard hitters like lancers or snipers. Simply put, protective layers don't stack, so a top-quality outer layer is best. The formula if anyone's interested: when a pawn is hit, the weapon's AP is subtracted from each layer of protection individually starting from the outermost. So Steak's 71% thrumbofur duster vs. a 45% AP charge lance gives a 26. That number is compared to a 1-100 roll, resulting in A, B, or C: A. If the roll is less than half of the remaining number (1-13 in this case) all damage is deflected B. If the roll is more than half but less than the total (14-26) the damage is halved and passes to the next layer as blunt damage, BUT retains the same AP C If the roll is more than the remaining number (27-100) all damage passes to the next layer In the event of B, the same formula is applied to the next layer but most armor has very low blunt protection, meaning Steak's good flak vest can't stop it (the blunt protection is lower than the AP), so it passes to the next layer and even a legendary hyperweave shirt can't stop that. In the event of C, a good flak vest has a decent chance to stop it: 115% protection vs 45% AP gives a 70, so there's a 30% chance of full damage (all of which would pass through a shirt) and 35% chance of blunt. You can halve the 30% chance of full to 15% with an excellent flak vest (130 vs. sharp), btw, and a masterwork would stop all sharp damage (145% vs. sharp). On top of that protection for arms and legs will drop from 101% to 71% because the flak vest only covers the torso, neck, and shoulders, so watch those kneecaps Steak!

One cool fact about Rimworld is that Ascetic Pawns don't need impressive throne rooms or bedrooms to be happy. They do need a throne to sit on still, and to be granted the titles, but beyond that they're content. They even still prefer eating raw food.

Protip for anyone who wants to weaken captured enemies and has a proficient doctor: Keep a bionic arm and bionic leg around. You can install and uninstall them (for both pairs) on any prisoner to reduce them to a torso, install peg legs on them and send them back home. As far as I remember, this can weaken any future raid they appear in, and doesn't cost any mood penalties for removing body parts~

In case someone was wondering, steak's new psycast is "focus". It's level 4 and it "psychically focus the target's mind, boosting their sight, hearing and moving capacities" (with a 130% multiplier).

Your base is really coming along nicely. I would however make storage for medicines in the hospital itself so pawns don't waste time running to main storage during an emergency. At the very least, I wouldn't want my meds in the same room that the EXPLOSIVE MORTAR SHELL is in. and make a shelf for the mortar shells right next to the mortar itself. NVMD your mortar's still there. I've had bad experiences, one vanilla playthrough in particular where I got nothing but zzzzt events, all in my storage room, all setting the chemfuel on fire...

A bit surprised you went with bionic legs over arms first. As the crafter, Edmo would have gotten alot of use out of the increased efficiancy from the arms. Legs are great too, dont get me wrong, even better for Edmo since he was already on a reduced movement speed due to a prostetic, but i would probably have gone for the arms first.

As nice as the hand talon is, it is far from the optimal melee weapon for our...improved Edmo. I think Edmo deserves something like a plasteel sword. Besides that, he could benefit from bionic arms and a pain stopper, though the latter could become an issue

I don't think they're removable. I was trying to do that in a game the other day and it's permanent. The -20% to consciousness is a really downer.
