Really enjoying this series. I a big fan of Kofuzi the personality, but I don't really care that much about shoe reviews. I know he's going to stick mostly to his core content, but I'd love to see more stuff like this too.

Same. I absolutely love these training series and “runners weekend” videos!
@brianway424042 минут бұрын
I mostly agree with you guys. His racing goals and training to get there is more interesting than a lot of the content. I used to like the Runner's Weekend more, but ...... the extant to which this channel becomes a spinoff of, or advertisement for, Believe In The Run is the extent to which I tune out. Also, those trips are paid for by someone. As religious as he is about insisting he gets shoes for free (BITR admits no such thing) he (like BITR in this case) doesn't disclose who pays for each trip. But training stuff like this is still great!

on very cold days, I'll slip hand warmers inside my mittens. after my run, the hand warmers still give off quite a bit of heat. so I put them in my pockets for a little bit of extra coziness all day

I'm also training for Houston but more so miles since doing the full. The weather up and down combined with darkness is definitely a struggle in the midwest raining for a winter race down south. Did this in the past and failed miserably in Austin with heat. I guess it matters less for the half but have you done any heat training stuff to help with the shock when going south for the race? I've added a few indoor swims, bikes, and sauna session a week this time to see if it helps. So far it just makes me colder on the runs!

It’s probably been requested already, but I’d love your thoughts on Runna vs Stryd training plans.
@kofuzi56 минут бұрын
I'm trying to think if I've ever tried the Stryd training plan. Typically, I just ignore device-provided training plans (like Garmin, Coros) because I'm worried that it won't adjust or adapt to how I'm doing. And I guess I haven't ever looked to see if things like, switching days around to suit my travel schedule are possible. I think the closest I've done to a stryd plan was when Alex Filitti and I switched training plans for a week. I've also used power to drive my training plans that I've written (based off Jack Daniels' book), which was something that I really enjoyed when I was still relatively new to understanding what things like threshold efforts vs VO2 max efforts were supposed to feel like
@keithc126449 минут бұрын
@ Thanks. You did a 10k training plan about 4 years ago. Had a few videos on it while you were living in Iowa (I think)

Mike - Really like this format. Will be getting those AP4's as I'm actually incorporating the AP3's into my training now for LM. How's the cold affecting you? As I get older(older than you 😂) I find it's tough until a much needed warm-up(need that be longer as I'm older) and the wind is brutal. Having a hard time adjusting the clothes with the cold - sometimes overheat others fine. BTW, looks like you may need to bring out the speed skates on parts of those roads 😂.
@kofuziСағат бұрын
I love cold weather running. I prefer it to the heat. something I'm testing for this winter is to do a looped warm up where I can stay well bundled up for the first couple miles, then stop at the car to shed a layer, and then run a bit more comfortably. it has worked well for me so far on regular level cold days. I haven't tried it yet for the brutally cold days

Is the audio fixed with Runna’s videos? I actually dropped the workouts because they were so bad.
@kofuziСағат бұрын
hmmm. I have not experienced that
@CSRunner77 сағат бұрын
I really like the Runna app and usability but the HM plan seemed to overtrain me compared to when I had an online coach. The mix of easy runs to hard sessions seems way off 80/20 mark. Out of 5 runs per week it gave me 2 tough midweek sessions plus a session in the long run that broke me. Didn’t matter how slow I said my target race time was. Not sure if I did something wrong. Guess they are useful to suggest possible workouts to keep the interest but perhaps best to pick and choose hard sessions so still do most runs at easy aerobic effort.
@kofuzi6 сағат бұрын
I was worried when some of my long runs had work built into them (and while those kinds of runs are typically my favorite) the plan seems to be now giving me two sessions a week and then easy distance for my long runs
@CSRunner76 сағат бұрын
@ oh how did it change? Was it just because you missed them and it auto adjusted? Back when I last used it I kept slowing my target time but it still gave me a LR session but just slower paces!
