Great area, I grew up on King's Mountain at the top of Purissma Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve. The redwoods there were logged at least twice, first over a hundred years ago and then again in the 1960's and 1970's before the area was preserved as a park.

I'd have to check what shape the preserve is in now. I know there was some problems with the rains last year.

I rode down Kings mountain road when I was in high school with a friend on a tandem bike with no brakes! You're never afraid in high school.😊

I love the rides in Half Moon Bay. We often stay at the Pillar Point Rv park. I want to ride the south part of your ride. I noticed a sign at the Parisima trail head forbidding e-bikes. I'm 75 and use my e-bikes for exercise and exploring. Were there any other parts of this loop that had ebike restrictions. The plateau near the "golf ball" radar tower is one of my favorite rides. Thanks

I'm not sure about the restrictions, but I guess I didn't catch any on camera.

Sweet video. I've biked the HMB Coastal trail with those yellow flowers too in early spring this year. There are two different plants... Mustard and some other flower..I want to say sheeps foot or something like that. there are mustard farms along the coast. and the Purisima climb is a bit tough for me on a 12speed.. have ridden most of your loop on various bikes: MTB, gravel, and road bike. Very cool to link them up for a loop! I always love the Redwoods in my backyard! But I will try this loop from Pillar Pt on my gravel bike this summer 22. Not a fan of HWY1 though. Thanks!

I think for the most part, our experience on Hwy 1 was ok. We seemed to be riding in the more crowded areas where drivers don't pick up as much speed, but yeah, I can see that on other parts...

Nice. What tire size is recommended for the ride?
@GravelBikeCalifornia2 жыл бұрын
You can definitely get by with skinnier. I was riding 40s, but you should be fine with 32s.
