I have been a Giz fan since Eyes Like The Sky came out on Bandcamp. Live em. Just discovered HMR and been playing nonstop. They remind me of the the 90's-2000 Radiohead, Verve, Travis, Blur era. The song 9beat even dounds like Crash-era Dave Matthews Band. Showing my age. Great band.

Saw HMR open for Wintersleep in WPG at the Pyramid Cabaret years back… and it was glorious! Best band I’d seen in a long time and it changed me. Renewed my faith in music and allowed me to keep making music. It meant a lot to someone dealing with writer’s block and lack of hope for the future. They absolutely broke down my walls with their abilities, sounds and potential. In a single show they made it all seem brand new and exciting again!! This song is great. "You can let go that weight you carry with ya" I just finished crying, something I rarely do and I can't even recall the last time I did. I guess I have been carrying a lot of emotional baggage and haven't quite allowed myself to feel all the built up negative emotions. This song played at the grocery store earlier today. I remember hearing it before but I think the song found me at the right moment today for a reason - after crying the song popped into my head, even though I didn't quite recall the lyrics. I tried humming and singing it into the Google audio search to no luck. Then I thought, "You know, the voice and music sounds a lot like Half Moon Run." I hadn't listened to them in a long time and wasn't very familiar with their music except music from over a decade ago. Thankfully my ear was right and after going through some of their new material on KZbin I came across this song and realized it was what was playing in the store. Watching this video and reading the lyrics, I feel like there was a reason this song came to me today, as it speaks to what I've been feeling and going through. Thanks, Half Moon Run (and to people who read this).
