The cabinet with the hutch, that has drawers that aren't real drawers...those flat pull out parts are cutting boards or just general extensions for prep space (not fake drawers). If the printed flower papers have a poly- backing, they may be water transfers to use as decorative decals on accessories.

Hi, I love the first cabinet A LOT!! The metal leaves are fern leaves, you can paint them, bend them, ... make them into plants... I would use the little cameo as luxury soaps. The paper flowers, are they sliding decal? If not, you could use them as a wall paper boarder, or cut them apart and use them as little posters ? The boat is meant to have only one paddle, because it's like the Venetian boat paddles, you paddle from the rear of the boat, I think, due to the form of the paddle, but don't quote me on this... Beautiful hand paint job on the cabinet from 2001. I love the mahogany table actually! Nice Haul!!
@DawnDavidson2 ай бұрын
Yes, I could see the flowers as some sort of wallpaper border, or even wallpaper itself, in a small enough space. Making them into paintings seems good too. Or maybe as appliqués on otherwise plain furniture? They are lovely!

That’s an amazing haul. I think the person who made the butcher block was attempting to replicate the wear that a heavily used butcher block would receive after numerous years of use. If you’ve ever seen a really old butcher block in an antique store, you’ll notice deep wear spots. This person was just a little aggressive with the aging. 😂 I love the tilt top table and the one with the cabriole legs! They are gorgeous. Tilt top tables are actually older than the Victorian period bc in many stately homes furniture was pushed against the wall when not in use and they were often used as game tables, so you are correct! Card games were very popular at one time. They would also have been used as tea tables too. You have the best luck when searching out minis. I’m so glad you share your find with us. ❤

Many have said the tilt top table was for tea and card games and that's correct. It was also used as a decorative way to cover the fireplace when not in use. I'm pretty sure it was a kit, House of Miniatures I think🤔. The chairs with armrests are called 'Captains chairs and sat at opposite ends of the table. The butchers block is supposed to have a slightly convave surface but this one is a bit much. The surface shape was to accommodate the shape of meat cleavers and hatchets. It also helped with "fluid drainage". So many awesome pieces in this lot!! ❤

The metal ferns(?) shown at 4:19 are made by photo-etching on sheets of brass or steel, using a photochemical process. In modeling, photo-etched parts are most commonly encountered as aftermarket parts for advanced-level scale model kits. But they show up everywhere if you look. BTW, nice haul!

Man! You find the cutest miniatures!! I have a dining table that seats 8. You're right the armed chairs do go at the heads of the table. My mom has one of those pieces of furniture you said was from the 80's. She left all the wood plain except for the back panel. She painted it white. It looks so much better that way. It sort of looks like 2 separate shelves now. Idk if I'd have thought of that. Idk if I'm even explaining it right. It breaks it up some, and it's so cute! But you don't need my ideas. You do excellent all by yourself!

I stumbled on making very realistic floor tiles using die cuts. I use architectural designs (honey comb, square tiles and brick work). I cut 2 contrasting sets. One set to make the "grout lines" and the second set to be the tiles. Textured paper from wallpaper sample books as given me some really cool looks of tile, marble and travertine. I glue the grout line in first and then individually lay the tiles. Takes a minute but well worth the effort

@@queencityminis hi Shyra... I am subscriberd to your channel and have learned so much from you!!! This just seemed the appropriate place to post this. Looking forward to you next post. I'm learning to see and use die cuts in a whole new way. Using multiple layers I've come up with several low cost design options from window inserts and shutters to intricate shelf supports and room screen dividers. Depending on the paper and finish not only did I get "wrought iron" but also the look of laser cut wood but I have a greater design options. I used an inteicate die cut of a window with shutters to come up with wrought iron shutters. The die cut I used had the window closed but I discovered I could get it to be partially to almost fully open by molding the panels as I glued one layer onto the next while the glue was wet. I also cut them several times in black for the exterior and then white for the interior. The window frame in the die cut widened the window ledge to give me a low profile window box. For the shelf supports I used photo picture corners and for the room dividers I used the "lace" background dies. For multi panel screens I've glue inserted micro small hinges between the layers making them fully adjustable. Just remember to allow enough spacing to allow full swing clearance for the panels to get to the fully closed position. Next... I plan to see if I can come up with a way to get "stained glass" Tiffany style lamp and chandeliers. The dome shape has me stumped at the moment, but I'm not giving up lol. I'm currently working with embossing folders to see if I can get sheets to use for architectural insert panels and tin look ceilings.

I absolutely adore your videos! Actually, I think they are a bit addicting, I can feel my seratonin levels rising! The beautiful little tilt-top table actually dates back to Colonial days when homes were sometimes one or two rooms so they saved space. They also had railings along the wall to hang furniture out of the way, The little mystery kit with wheels looks a bit like a stroller or pram from the 30's. The tall back "pew" seat is called a "settle" and was used on the wall next to a fireplace in a small house also from colonial times. Simple furniture for simple times. Thanks for these videos!
