Like others have said, the Chattahoochee is a river in GA that runs from northeast to southwest. It runs through parts of metro Atlanta which is why I'm surprised to learn people haven't heard of it. If someone from Atlanta says something like "Let's go shoot the 'Hootch", they mean raft down the Chattahoochee. It's popular on the weekends in the summer.

Alan was actually from Georgia. The Chattahoochie is a river. You guys are too young to know this but back in the day the traveling carnivals and shows had dancing girls who were like low cost versions of the burlesque dancers. They had skimpy outfits and danced. They were called hoochie coochie girls. Since then people have given new meanings to the words hoochie and coochie. He is on a wake board or single water ski. What he talks about is dropping her off and then meeting up with the guys down by the river and drinking some beers (pyramid of cans). Innocent fun guys!

The Chattahoochee River forms the southern half of the Alabama and Georgia border, as well as a portion of the Florida - Georgia border. It is a tributary of the Apalachicola River, a relatively short river formed by the confluence of the Chattahoochee and Flint rivers and emptying from Florida into Apalachicola Bay in the Gulf of Mexico. The Chattahoochee River is about 430 miles (690 km) long.[3] The Chattahoochee, Flint, and Apalachicola rivers together make up the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint River Basin (ACF River Basin).[3] The Chattahoochee makes up the largest part of the ACF's drainage basin.

The Chattahoochee River originates in the southeast corner of Union County, Georgia, in the southern Appalachian Mountains and flows southwesterly through the Atlanta metropolitan area before terminating in Lake Seminole, at the Georgia-Florida border.
