Fun fact.. Lil Wayne actually made this happen by asking Em what he thought about Cudi asking Em for help in a tweet on Wayne’s podcast a couple months ago. Em actually didn’t even know about it and said he would have to hit Cudi up. We ended up with this track and two more tracks are on the way as a result. This is probably why Em gave Weezy a shout on this first song. Great reaction guys. 💯

The way I understand it, Em was commenting on being called a guest in hip-hop, implying he couldn’t leave the house if he wanted to by calling himself a house rat. As far as cheese on the mouse traps, that seemed more like a comment on other new rappers in general who only rap about money and other frivolous/superficial things because big record labels say they should and it sells. In other words, the “easy rap” that sells is the cheese on the mousetrap of big record deals that end up killing young rappers’ careers while record labels reload the trap. Just my take on it
