Right. But he also belonged to a nationwide party like Congress which made it possible. Devegowda becoming a short time PM was merely a lottery due to the political instability in those times, otherwise his party do not have any presence outside of his home state of Karnataka. Same is the drawback of Kejriwal and Mamata. Their parties of whom both of them are the 'whole and sole' unlike Modi, do not have almost any presence outside of the state of which they are chief minister. Hence, none of them can be called as a serious future would be Prime minister unless they succeed in forming an alliance of all non-bjp parties including congress, which Congress is highly unlikely to consent to and there being no communist party/parties anymore having enough strength in the parliament.

For me , I believe only two young leader have the pull , skills and the quality to be a mass leader like honourable PM Narendra Modi i.e Sachin Pilot and Jyoti Aditya Scindia I am compelled to say Yogi is a very powerful leader and a worthy candidate but because of his open biasness to one community in words (not necessarily in action) It will be hard to imagine him as PM of such a diverse country like that of India. Arvind Kejriwal pull only works in educated upper middle class and rich people , He has not shown his skills regarding swaying people on religion heavy states like central India and his party has also not having its footprint on a national level so , I think it will be hard for me till 2029 if his party footprint is not sizeable or he is not the leader of a major coalition party. For Yogi Adityanath, I believe he is the best candidate to take on the role which Amit Shah is doing masterfully for BJP.

Also, Gujarat have Gini value very high, meaning Huge money belongs to very small people but many are in lower and middle class that has to be modified. These are just a start. We would prefer a strong govt in 2024, if there should an alternative it should be as powerful and efficient as Modi govt. We cannot simply risk on falling governments or PMs on daily wages as SG says. We need strong policy making and gritty decision makers at the top. This is something that the voters need to think. At the moment Modi is the best bet. He has the ideas, results are slowly becoming visible. Road upto 2030 is crucial for India with multiple challenges around us.

Modi has destroyed Indian Economy (continuous 8 quarters of GDP decline up until COVID after which the economy fell off the cliff, record unemployment now). Foreign policy (both global and more importantly the local neighborhood, case in point LAC Chinese deep encroachments which Modi has denied in front of the world and the Chinese use his statement of denial on all international fora to make fun of India). Has sent 80 million Indians (majority Hindus) below poverty line and this is pre covid data. Internal security is the weakest since decades, given Resurgence in Kashmir, Massive fighting between state police of Assam and other neighboring states, longest/widest/largest protests ever registered within India whether farmers/AntiCAA/Students/Lawyers/Doctors etc). The internal security is in tatters with Pegasus issue, Electoral bonds buying and selling of Political parties.

Mathematically it is nearly impossible either AK or Mamta can become PM. On a very bad day BJP will easily get 120 seats and congress on a very good day can get 150 seats. Any party who wants to rule will need one of their support. Say, if Mamta wins all 42 seats of WB and few seats here and there and AK wins all seats of Delhi and few in Punjab, they have to form an alliance and which other regional parties will join to hand over PM post to Mamta or AK. It will be a much better deal to form an alliance with either INC or BJP.

It's quite clear. Yogi adityanath will be next PM of India. He will win UP elections 2022. Campaign across the country for PM Modi in 2024. BJP will 2024. Modi will be PM and yogi will get some post in cabinet. Then 2026 Modi will retire. Yogi will be PM.
