As a VS subscriber I have some advice: try to watch the movie before you buy it. Tubi has a ton of VS releases for free. The issue with VS is they try to put lipstick on a pig. Some of their movies are terrible. Dont let a fancy slipcover fool you

I've been trying to tell new collectors this for years: we've WATCHED these movies for YEARS several DECADES ago! THAT's why we're buying them! Don't just grab them to grab them; even I made that mistake with Kino Lorber a couple of years ago.

I always get a little excited for these VS sales and try to pick up at least a couple titles. I've got China O'Brien 1 & 2 on 4K pre-ordered, and I plan to add the Navy Seals 4K VSU to my order tonight. Might pick up a couple others over the weekend, like DARYL as well.

I'd recommend Fade to black. More of a thriller than a slasher. VS put it out a few years ago.

Most of what I wanted came out this year so I have to wait for the Black Friday sale to get them. Good news is that I have time to save up for the specific titles. BUT I did get me SIDEKICKS and SHOWGIRLS (albeit the standard edition since I waited too long for the VSU edition). I probably should've gotten MADMAN but $150 was too much as is (I bought THE PROPHECY collection but didn't realize it wasn't 50% until afterward off so that hurt).

I took your advice and added Sidekicks to my existing pre-orders. I also ordered several others including ice cream man with Clint howard. My birthday is on June 14th and hopefully they may be in by then because I can't think of anything that goes better with birthday cake than ice cream.

Nice picks, Ken! I think movies with kids in them don't sell as well in general for Vinegar Syndrome. Something about their base that only wants T&A or slasher flicks 😅 I'd just remind folks to spend wisely because some of their releases are real turds. Think twice before wasting money.

They just put out Riddle of Fire and it's an awesome throwback movie with the cast of kids as the main stars. I hope people see it as it's a great movie.

I buy a lot from Vinegar Syndrome and Severin. Art is subjective one man's trash is another man's treasure. Different stuff for different folks. Most of Vinegar Syndrome's movies might seem bad to you because you're not a hard-core horror fan. The movies they release are obscure, cult or hard to find which otherwise we might not get.🤔

What's up Ken. Unfortunately Roadhouse standard edition does not come with a slip cover. I bought it a couple of months ago thinking it was going to sell out. I should have waited for the sale. Got some really great movies. Dead Heat is cool, Resurrection is almost like Seven, Freeway is great, The Beastmaster is awesome. I was really hoping to get Spellcaster after watching on Tubi. Unfortunately it's OOP. Damn cool 80's vibe cheesy movie. Madman is a late night slasher scare your girl kind of movie. Highly recommend those titles.

Even though I am not in the best place financially, I went to buy a few titles I wanted. One of those titles was RoadHouse. It was sold out before I could complete my order 😑 I wound up buying only Roadhouse from Diabolik DVD. Oh well. Excited that VS is doing Invasion USA in 4K!!

If you think licensing films is a cheap nickle and dime scenario i can tell you it most certainly isnt. I`ve spoken with a few heads of labels and it can be expensive, some films are even bid on by numerous labels and whoever offers the most $ obviously wins. There is also restoration costs and sometimes stuff that needs to be recreated. Supernaturals for instance is currently being worked on by a UK label. The problem they are facing is something odd was done with the original special vfx and they cant use them but rather have to digitally recreate them,its incredibly costly supposedly and has put production for it to a hault. We get these delivered to our doors in nice slips/boxes but really have no idea all of the blood sweat n tears and cash that went into creating it.....also just fyi with Primal Rage,thats actually a trilogy, Primal Scream, Blue Monkey and Primal Rage are all connected. Codered and Darkforce released all of them on bluray
