If I had to guess, Aizen’s thought process was, “Well, the 2 Espada above Halibel just lost. Even if Halibel wins, she’d probably be too exhausted to handle the remaining soul reapers (Yamamoto, Soi Fon, Omaeda, and/or Shinsui) and Visored (Rose, Love, and/or Hachi) who aren’t otherwise occupied (Shinji is fighting me, Yamamoto’s 2nd sort of disappeared once the Visored showed up, Mashiro and Kensei are fighting Wonderweiss, and Komamura and Hisagi are dealing with Tosen). So…screw Espada 3. She’s worthless.” Basically, at this point, Aizen realized that the arrancars he brought with him had served their purpose. All the non-captains except for Omaeda, Hisagi, and Sasakibe were beaten or otherwise incapacitated, the remaining captains and visorered except for Yamamoto, Shinji, and Komamura were whittled down considerably, and the two strongest Espada he brought with him were beaten. Aizen realized that Halibel was functionally worthless at this point because she was struggling to take on a single Captain and two of the weaker Visored. Gin and Kaname were also stated to be stronger than Stark, Barrigan, and Halibel so they were more than capable of dealing with the remaining soul reapers except for Yamamoto due to the fact the fact that most of them were whittled down from fighting opponents that were stated to be weaker than Gin and Kaname. That’s also not getting into the fact that Ichigo, who Aizen banked on showing up after getting stronger from beating Ulqiorra whose 2nd release put him above all the other Espada except for maybe Yammy in his second release. (If Yammy actually understood how to use his power properly that is), was eventually going to arrive and would have been able to flatten Halibel I’d wager. That’s also not touching on the fact that Yamamoto, the only fighter Aizen was scared of, was still waiting in the wings. So really, keeping Halibel around was kinda pointless in his eyes. It’s a scummy betrayal but from a pragmatic perspective, it made sense.

Gotta love how the arrancar far outscaled the captains, and yet they still lost (Ichigo was literally captain class and was tossed around by 3 of them on different occasions like a toy) The powerscaling for the series isn't bad the combat scaling is
