I really like your style of doing the video! I’d rather watch a video with a voice-over done at the end so content isn’t lost if you speed up a portion. You gained a subscriber 😊

Thanks, I wish I had thought of it, but I saw it years ago. I'm sure if you search for wedgy jig, you will find someone who has done a build video on it.

I know several people who work with wood, from building custom doors to custom stairs and railings. I can safely say that I don't know anyone, except you, who is willing to tackle such incredibly complex (to me, anyway!) designs and who pulls innovation out of his hat like a rabbit! This was just awesome, Brian! Great work, as always, and love hearing your thoughts throughout the process. Brilliant piece! ~ Mark

Superb work Brian! You have an Artisan's eye and a Craftsman's skills! In your comments on what to improve about a router-plane, this sounds like simply a matter of scale and human anthropomorphism. I would look to places such as Micro Mark or Pen State Industries, both of which deal in down-scaled/sized Crafts and Tools. For this work, try the former, as they deal more in general woodwork and some metalwork. I have seen down to 3/16th inch wide blades, if I am not mistaken, and the machining looks very fine. Hope this type could meet your needs, or at least be a starting point. If not... have them made for you, then you can design and build the cases for them, for either "display" or work in the shop. Thanks again for sharing such a beautiful work with us.

My goal is one day to be able to afford a mill so I can just make the tool the way I want it.

Great build. Always impressed your fusion of materials. Your comment about creating iterations to find your style is so valuable for makers. Too many times we build what others want and never develop our own style. But we can take from those builds to find ourselves, and finding ourselves is often overlooked in this crazy maker life

So true, this one I think is going to an art gallery, but yeah, I love it when I have a customer who lets me have a lot of leeway in the design

Your style was set many years ago Brian. Oriental always comes to mind and Quality. I like the 'Copper' disc. It's a good job the mic was muted ( music playing). It is a family channel after all . I also see the blue tape sales are on the rise LOL.

Great video. You were always a top notch woodworker, but this video is a real step up in quality. I think you're really starting to find your own style here. It was a pleasure to watch, as always.

Beautiful work-- I love the style and use of steel. Did I miss where you detailed the process of adding the patina? I'm a big Walter White fan too... I'll need to rewatch Breaking Bad to find the one where he used his crystal meth to age steel :)!

Finally, not a short.
@Benham_Design Жыл бұрын
While I understand that people don't like shorts, I had a choice to make. I could either accept the fact that the world is changing and I can get on board, or delete the channel and stay under my rock. By posting shorts, my once stagnated channel is now growing again. I am also bringing in a younger audience with short. Which I think is a good thing not only for the craft but for the future of the world. So the positive out weights the negative. And you never know, one day I may find an apprentice out of that new younger audience, which would be a nice change from having grumpy old men who hates change hanging. around.

You can't make your own jigs and just not sell them? Woodworkers consistently make things so much harder for themselves. It's very bizarre.
