Enjoyed both, to me Lucy Thomas has the most potential with her beautiful tone, vibrato and range, and yes, even though this was a studio production, there is enough video out there to suggest that she sounds just as amazing live. Lucy Thomas has amazing vocals strengh controls and beautiful tonenal quality. Her pure pitch perfect vocals, she is the best female vocalist in her own world today.

Lucy is pitch-perfect and DELIVERS an emotional performance, whereas I had to skip thru Morgan after a few minutes. No contest ! Lucy may well become a modern day "one-take" Karen Carpenter.

Another surprise. The Morgan cover was one of her covid covers. Some were more of an impromptu jam session, others more produced. I picked this to pair with Lucy because I knew it would not be blocked. I only clicked a few spots to see it was all there. I was to review with you. I hope I did not turn you off her others. Some are awesome. The Lucy cover was done when she was 16. I do not know if that is her home studio, or record labels, 4 albums from there.. But going through the years of thumbnails the same single mic, even with her sister duets, with or without the OBS added backgrounds seems the same. Her latest few vids have been filmed on set of Rosie a Broadway London Show coming soon. Production quality is way up. She is to star and 5-6 original songs are out for this. It was covid postponed. Her parents kept a good leash on her. Not many live shows. I have 2 clips from a fund raiser, and 2 tv shows. She will be 19 in Feb. and is in college. This is not my favorite song by her, but 24 million people think it is. I enjoyed the show, thank you for putting it up. I'm going to add a link to a three song live set when she was 15. You got hung up on one musical issue with Morgan's version. Yet Lucy's version was extremely over produced. So much reverb on her voice it would be hard to tell how good she really is. The sparse instrumentation behind Morgan's version made it even more emotional for me. You can tell it was a live take.

Unpopoular opinion: For me Morgan delivers the emotion of the song just perfectly. Well Lucy's voice is amazing for sure but its not always about being fancy. Sometimes less is more.

You can see, even if you don't hear the music, the body language Lucy conveys vs. Morgan; Lucy brings you into her version with passion, intensity, and meaning, whereas Morgan is just, bleh! This is like comparing Lucy to..........anyone, never a contest!!

Morgan’s voice seems too harsh for this song. Lucy is much softer smoother in the right places and just floats from note to note. Another good singer you should check out is Devina Michelle from the Netherlands I believe. She’s amazing.

I'm late to the comments, but we find these videos when we find them. First, the harp is overpowering in Morgan James' version, there's no doubt about that, but I'm going to give a little criticism here. I've watched Morgan's version and not only is this an edited version of it, but for some reason the sound isn't right. I'm not an expert in all things recording, but it almost sounds like someone messed with the sound quality. I love Lucy and her perfect pitch and control, but I've heard both independently of each other and Morgan's has more soul. This doesn't do her version justice.

morgan very basic, no vibrato, has very little range -- there are millions just as good. No comparison -- Lucy wins easily. Why do you compare someone so poor with someone so great?

Morgan James has incredible range. Go listen to her doing Dream On, Maps or any of her homemade recordings. The Lucy Thomas version was so over produced and voice practically got lost in the reverb. The bare bones of Morgan's instrumentation made it more emotional for me.
